Rund 25 Minuten dauerte die Pressekonferenz vor dem Klub-WM-Halbfinale zwischen dem Champions-League-Sieger und Real Madrid (Mittwoch 21 Uhr, live bei DAZN und bei SPORT BILD im Ticker), den Namen Mbappé nannte Enrique kein einziges Mal. Obwohl es reichlich Möglichkeiten gegeben hätte, die Nachfragen nach dem früheren Paris- und heutigen Real-Star waren zahlreich.

Vielmehr freue sich der Spanier jetzt auf das Duell mit den Königlichen. Der ehemalige Spieler und Trainer des FC Barcelona meinte: „Gegen Real Madrid zu spielen, ist zweifellos etwas Besonderes. Wir spielen solche Spiele gerne, weil es bedeutet, dass du deine Arbeit gut gemacht hast. Wir sind in der Position, ein Halbfinale zu spielen. Es ist ein sehr wichtiges und motivierendes Spiel. Wir sind bereit, ein weiteres Finale zu spielen. Für mich ist es ein Vergnügen, gegen Real Madrid zu spielen, das war es schon immer, denn man spielt gegen die am meisten verehrte Mannschaft der Welt, das ist riesig.
