V dubnové Velké ceně Kataru si při dalším pádu zlomil jedenáct žeber a utrpěl pneumotorax. Od té doby v seriálu chyběl.
V Misanu se nyní na okruhu Marca Simoncelliho posadil poprvé zpět na motorku a během dne bez problémů absolvoval 64 kol.
