New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, selected 25th overall in April’s NFL Draft, has already earned praise from one of his former Ole Miss wideouts.
Antwane Wells Jr., who signed as an undrafted free agent with the Giants, shared glowing sentiments just as the team prepares to kick off training camp, spotlighting Dart‘s blend of grit and character.
Wells, who lined up alongside Dart in Oxford, highlighted the young quarterback’s physicality: “His toughness to run through defenders and jump over people and all that type of stuff.” But the praise didn’t stop with his athleticism.
Wells went on: “But besides all that, he’s just a great guy.”
These remarks bolster a growing narrative around Dart heading into summer drills. His teammates and coaches across both college and the pros have spotlighted his leadership.
During OTAs and minicamp, Dart‘s presence was more than just arm strength and accuracy. As a recent article put it, his personality and ability to unite young teammates earned him the nickname “Captain Charisma” .
Former Rebels receiver Wells, who transitioned with Dart to the Giants, has a front-row seat for his teammate’s authenticity and competitive spirit.
