Apesar do favoritismo indicar uma tendência de vitória ao PSG, o Chelsea contrariou as previsões e fez bonito na finalíssima do Mundial de Clubes neste domingo, ganhando por 3×0 em grande atuação de Palmer e João Pedro. Para o jornalista André Rizek, por exemplo, esses dois jogadores merecem estar na seleção da competição e foram os principais condutores do clube inglês rumo à taça.
“Pelo que jogaram na hora do vamos ver… impossível fazer uma seleção do Mundial sem Palmer e João Pedro. O Palmer, inclusive, briga pelo prêmio de craque aqui. Decidiu contra Benfica, Palmeiras e vai decidindo a final. Chelsea trancou o meio-campo e jogou a chave fora. PSG ficou desconfortável praticamente o jogo todo. Que trabalho do Maresca e seus jogadores nessa final. Uma aula de futebol do começo ao fim”, escreveu Rizek, no Twitter, na repercussão da final.
“O time das goleadas vai levando merecido sapeca do Chelsea. Maresca tirou um atacante, preencheu o meio e está assistindo à sua equipe dar um banho de bola. Atuação magistral do Palmer. É exatamente o oposto do que fez o Real na semifinal, inclusive no placar do primeiro tempo”.
Flamengo venceu o Chelsea na primeira fase
A única derrota do campeão do Mundial de Clubes em sua vitoriosa campanha foi para o Flamengo, na segunda rodada da fase de grupos, pelo placar de 3×1. Para Rizek, em resposta a outro internauta, o time inglês não entrou de “corpo mole” naquele jogo, mas ainda estava ajustando a equipe e foi conseguindo crescer ao longo da competição:
“Não jogou de corpo mole, não. Flamengo foi brilhante e o Chelsea foi crescendo na competição. Normal. A Arábia Saudita ganhou da Argentina campeã do mundo na fase de grupos de 2022, um grande feito, que morre ali mesmo”, declarou o jornalista do SporTV.
Neste mesmo formato, o próximo Mundial de Clubes está agendado pela Fifa para a temporada de 2029. Aos poucos, a CBF, através do presidente Samir Xaud, começa a se movimentar para tentar trazer a competição ao Brasil.
Flamengo voltou em alta no Brasileirão
Eliminado nas oitavas de final do Mundial de Clubes em derrota de 4×2 para o Bayern de Munique, o Flamengo voltou em alta no Brasileirão e venceu o São Paulo pelo placar de 2×0 no último sábado no Maracanã. O time treinado por Filipe Luís, que segue vivo na Libertadores e na Copa do Brasil, lidera o certame nacional com 27 pontos.
