Abel Ferreira rebate Cappellanes ao abordar investimento do Palmeiras em reforços milionários: “Tem dinheiro para pagar”

Abel Ferreira, após Palmeiras 1 x 1 Mirassol, rebateu o questionamento feito por João Paulo Cappellanes. Levando em conta que os reforços, até o momento, não garantiram um futebol de encher os olhos, o jornalista quis saber a opinião do técnico sobre o pior desempenho desde a chegada do português ao Brasil. Neste cenário, o comandante do time alviverde, inicialmente, defendeu os gastos do clube em contratações, tendo em vista o número bilionário de vendas.

“Abel, muita gente entende que, desde que você chegou aqui, a versão de 2025 do Palmeiras é a pior dela, mesmo com mais de meio bilhão de reais investidos. Você concorda com essa afirmação?”, questionou Cappellanes. “Por que investiu meio bilhão? Se você não sabe, eu vou explicar. Sabe quanto vendemos em jogadores? Mais de R$ 1,5 bilhão, em cinco anos. Se o Palmeiras compra é porque tem dinheiro para pagar. Faturou em títulos e vendas para comprar jogadores.”, respondeu Abel Ferreira.

Na sequência, Abel Ferreira se esquivou da pergunta de Cappellanes em relação ao nível do Palmeiras em campo. Embora o resultado no Brasileirão tenha sido decepcionante, o treinador quis ressaltar a procura dos europeus pelos jogadores do time alviverde, algo refletido com o interesse da Roma em Richard Ríos.

“Isso é uma opinião sua e não vou discutir. Nós, há um mês e meio, estávamos em primeiro na Libertadores e em primeiro no campeonato. Agora, não estamos passando um bom momento. […] Se estamos tão mal porque vem buscar jogadores na nossa equipe? Uma coisa eu tenho que assumir, não fizemos um bom jogo, mas entendo a narrativa que se cria. Os nossos torcedores começam a acreditar naquilo que vocês dizem.”, prosseguiu.

Abel Ferreira avalia gastos do Palmeiras

Ciente das cobranças, Abel Ferreira lembrou que a reformulação no elenco do Palmeiras não vai mostrar resultados do dia para a noite. Neste cenário, o exemplo do PSG, que sempre investiu bastante no mercado da bola e demorou para colher resultados, é visto como destaque para que os torcedores tenham paciência com os novos jogadores.

“Trocamos 12 ou 13 jogadores. Vieram jogadores jovens, jogadores que estão lesionados… hoje, em função daquilo que é a credibilidade nacional e internacional, vencemos um zagueiro por 35 milhões de euros. Vencemos um centroavante ao Real Madrid e o Estêvão ao Chelsea. Agora é trabalhar com os jogadores que temos. Não é chegar e vencer. Se fosse assim, o PSG tinha que ganhar sempre porque investiu 870 milhões de euros em quatro ou cinco anos.”, afirmou.

Cappellanes se posiciona nas redes sociais

Reagindo à resposta de Abel Ferreira depois da partida no Brasileirão, Cappellanes considera que o comandante do Palmeiras levou a pergunta “para o coração”. Além disso, o profissional da Band sinalizou uma postura exagerada do técnico ao longo do forte discurso, mas a situação está longe de ser uma novidade.

“Acho que o Abel não entendeu a minha pergunta. Levou pro coração.”, externou. “Detalhe que a pergunta foi: ‘Abel, mesmo investindo mais de meio bilhão, você concorda que a versão 2025 do Palmeiras é a pior desde que você chegou? Por quê?!’. Aí ele deu o chilique tradicional.”, acrescentou.
