Der Hamburger SV will im siebten Anlauf zurück in die Bundesliga. Allerdings verlor der Traditionsklub vergangenen Spieltag die Tabellenführung in der 2. Liga an den 1. FC Köln – weil die Norddeutschen zuhause gegen Elversberg nur 0:0 spielten. Droht dem HSV ausgerechnet im Frühjahr – wie in den vergangenen Jahren – wieder der Einbruch? Torjäger Robert Glatzel (31) beruhigt alle Hamburger Fans.
„Ich habe nach dem Spiel einige Nachrichten bekommen, in denen es sinngemäß hieß: Das war ein Rückschlag für den HSV. So sehe ich das aber nicht, es war maximal ein kleiner Dämpfer der aktuellen Euphorie, mehr jedoch nicht. Man muss sich um uns keine Sorgen machen“, sagt Glatzel im Interview mit SPORT BILD.

Warum ist der Angreifer so sicher? „Aufgrund der Art und Weise, wie wir gespielt haben – und das gegen einen sehr guten Gegner. Wir standen stabil, spielten voll auf Sieg. Das Thema Frühjahrskrise spielt überhaupt keine Rolle bei uns. Es wird lediglich von außen thematisiert, wenn die Ergebnisse ausbleiben. Das ist halt Hamburg. Wir als Mannschaft sind so gefestigt und gestärkt, dass uns das nicht aus der Ruhe bringt“, sagt Glatzel.
Zudem erklärt der Führungsspieler, warum die Mannschaft gefestigter ist als in den vergangenen Jahren: „Was die aktuelle Situation von den vergangenen Jahren unterscheidet: Die Verantwortung wurde auf viel mehr Schultern verteilt. Acht, neun Spieler packen nun an und gehen voran (u. a. Schonlau, Reis, Meffert, Glatzel, Selke, Elfadli, Heuer Fernandes, Mickel, Muheim; d. Red.). Das waren in der Zeit davor drei, vier Spieler. Das stärkt uns als Mannschaft.“
Was spricht noch für den HSV? Glatzel: „Der Kader, wir haben viele und unterschiedliche Waffen. Wir haben ein super Trainer-Team, angeführt von Merlin Polzin. Durch die Tatsache, dass er jahrelang Co-Trainer war, konnte er eine sehr gute Bindung zu den Spielern aufbauen. Das sorgt für großes Vertrauen, das sieht man auf dem Platz.“
[–>Und weiter: „Dazu kommen unsere unfassbaren Fans und unsere Heimstärke. Wir haben noch kein Spiel im Volksparkstadion verloren – und unser Stadion soll bis zum Saisonende eine Festung bleiben.“
Am kommenden Wochenende gastiert der HSV in Nürnberg. Zuvor bezog der Klub vom vergangenen Sonntag bis Mittwoch überraschend ein Kurz-Trainingslager auf der Sonneninsel Mallorca. Sinnvoll? „Ja“, sagt Glatzel. „Weil man als Mannschaft nochmals enger zusammenrückt, dort hart und konzentriert – aber auch mit der entsprechenden Freude – arbeitet. Doch wir wissen auch: Ist das Ergebnis in Nürnberg am Samstag nicht positiv, wird es uns negativ ausgelegt.“
