Er wollte unbedingt zu Arsenal – und das hat Viktor Gyökeres jetzt ordentlich Geld gekostet!

Wie die portugiesische Zeitung „Record“ berichtet, hat Sporting Lissabon seinem Top-Stürmer das gesamte Gehalt für den Monat Juli gestrichen – rund 350.000 Euro Strafe!

Grund: Gyökeres war aus Protest gegen den stockenden Wechsel zu Arsenal in den Streik getreten und hatte 13 Trainingstage verpasst.

[–>Besonders sauer reagierte Klubpräsident Frederico Varandas, als Bilder auftauchten, die Gyökeres im Urlaub auf Mallorca zeigten – während er eigentlich in Lissabon zum Vorbereitungsstart erwartet worden war. Laut „Record“ forderte Varandas daraufhin das komplette Monatsgehalt zurück. Gyökeres akzeptierte – um die Transfer-Posse zu beenden und endlich weiter Richtung Premier League ziehen zu können.

Der Schwede hatte früh klargemacht, dass er zu Arsenal will – und berief sich dabei auf eine angebliche mündliche Zusage von Sporting, wonach er für deutlich weniger als die Ausstiegsklausel von 100 Millionen Euro hätte wechseln dürfen. Präsident Varandas dementierte jedoch öffentlich ein solches „Gentlemen’s Agreement“.

Erst nach langem Hin und Her einigten sich beide Vereine: Arsenal zahlt 63,5 Millionen Euro Ablöse plus 10 Millionen an Boni. Damit ist Gyökeres nun der neue Top-Stürmer der „Gunners“ – und bekommt die legendäre Rückennummer 14, die einst Thierry Henry (47) trug.

Trotz der saftigen Geldstrafe dürfte Gyökeres finanziell keinen großen Schaden nehmen. Der 27-Jährige kassierte zuletzt satte 500.000 Euro Bonus für über 50 Torbeteiligungen in der vergangenen Saison – und eine Extra-Prämie für den Gewinn der portugiesischen Meisterschaft mit Sporting.

Aktuell befindet sich Arsenal auf Asien-Reise, Gyökeres soll aber zeitnah zur Mannschaft stoßen. Sein erstes Spiel im neuen Trikot könnte sich allerdings etwas verzögern – wegen fehlender Trainingseinheiten durch den Streik.
