O Atlético-MG novamente foi derrotado no Brasileirão Série A, caindo fora de casa para o Flamengo por 1 a 0 no último domingo (27). Um resultado que complica demais as chances do time mineiro de brigar pelas primeiras posições da tabela de classificação do torneio.
Série de derrotas
Além disto, o tropeço diante dos cariocas foi também significativo por se tratar da terceira derrota consecutiva do time na competição. O Galo perdeu todas as partidas que fez desde que a Série A voltou após a realização da Copa do Mundo de Clubes, não somando pontos e também não fazendo atuações de grande impacto.
Desde a volta do Brasileirão, o Atlético-MG perdeu para Bahia (2 a 1), Palmeiras (3 a 2) e, agora, o Flamengo. Neste meio tempo, os mineiros tiveram duas partidas da competição adiadas porque disputava os play-offs da Copa Sul-Americana, na qual conseguiu a vaga nas oitavas ao derrotar nos pênaltis o Atlético Bucaramanga.
E esta série de derrotas é algo que há algum tempo não vinha fazendo parte do cotidiano do Galo. O site No Ataque relembrou a última vez na qual o time perdeu três partidas consecutivas foi em 2022, com curiosamente Cuca sendo parte de um dos jogos aos quais o time não venceu naquela época, também um período conturbado para o time
Quando foi a última vez?
Tal sequência aconteceu entre o final do primeiro turno e o começo do segundo. Os atleticanos fecharam a primeira parte do Brasileirão daquele ano sendo derrotados pelo Corinthians (2 a 1) e abriram o returno sendo batidos pelo Internacional (3 a 0), para depois serem derrotados pelo Athletico-PR (3 a 2). Na primeira partida da série, o treinador foi Lucas Gonçalves, que foi interino depois da saída de Antonio Mohamed. Já nas outras duas, Cuca foi o técnico atleticano.
E também seria o que comandaria o Atlético-MG no fim da série de derrotas (1 a 0 para o Coritiba). naquela época. Agora, de volta ao Galo, o treinador espera repetir tal feito no próximo domingo (3), diante do Red Bull Bragantino, na próxima rodada da Série A.
