Zůstala ve vás hořkost z odchodu ze Sparty?
Ne, žádná hořkost tam nebyla, pro mě je to dávno uzavřená kapitola, dál už to nechci řešit. Co jsem si k tomu chtěl říct, to jsem si řekl a dál se k tomu nemíním vracet (Sobotka mimo jiné na svém Instagramu uvedl, že doufal v jiné jednání – možná osobnější, důstojnější). Myslím si, že na obou stranách je to uzavřené.
Jaké to bude, až na podzim budete proti Spartě hrát?
Nějaký čas jsem tam strávil, takže to bude z obou stran vyhecovaný zápas, na který se těším. Když jsem byl na Spartě, vždycky to bylo proti Pardubicím vyostřené a chtěli jsme je porazit. Teď zase budu chtít porazit Spartu, stejně jako každý jiný tým.
Očekáváte ostré reakce sparťanských fandů?
Nechávám to být. Odešel jsem, tím to končí. Bohužel. Jak to říct… Byl jsem zklamaný, že jsem odešel, ale takový je hokej, s tím se nedá nic dělat.
Na druhou stranu laso od Dynama přišlo záhy po vašem konci na Spartě, že?
Nehledal jsem dlouho, to je pravda. Přišla nabídka, za níž jsem rád, a těší mě, že můžu hrát za Pardubice. Chci jim pomoct. Spoustu kluků tu znám a tým je velice dobře poskládaný. Lídrů je tu víc, což je jedině plus, půjde jen o to, jak si to celé sedne. To už si ale zařídíme, aby kabina dobře fungovala. Abychom měli náležité vystupování v šatně i na ledě a byli co nejlepší.
Zase se v jednom týmu potkáte s Romanem Červenkou, se kterým jste hrával ve Slavii i krátce ve Švýcarsku.
Těším se na to moc. V mém rozhodování sehrálo roli, že tady Roman hraje. On byl první člověk, se kterým jsem o Pardubicích mluvil. Jak to tady funguje a jak se tu věci mají. Slyšel jsem jen pozitivní věci a velká doporučení.

Vy jste pak prý do Dynama lehce lanařil i bývalého spoluhráče ze Sparty Michala Kempného, že?
Trenér Pešán říkal, že bude velkou výzvou všechny hráče sladit, neboť každý je zvyklý na určitou porci minut.
Ano, každý hráč si musí uvědomit, proč tady je a za jakým cílem. Na nás v kabině bude říct si, jak je třeba vystupovat na ledě a jak hrát. S tím musí každý počítat a osobně k tomu i přistoupit jako profesionál.

Prý od vás očekává, že budete přirozený lídr. Berete tu roli, nebo si nejdřív počkáte?
Bude záležet na trenérovi. Já se budu snažit odvádět nejlepší práci, která se po mně bude chtít a uvidí se. Přišel jsem do Pardubic udělat úspěch a budu se o něj rvát. Takhle to mám v hlavě nastavené.
Do Pardubic budete dojíždět z Prahy, či se tu zabydlíte?
Zatím s Ondrou Miklišem dojíždíme, máme to sem hodinu cesty, ale to určitě nepůjde každý den. Hledáme byt, abychom po zápasech a v únavě nemuseli do Prahy. Rodinu mám ale v Praze.
