A Associação do Futebol Argentino (AFA) e o River Plate expressaram sua oposição a uma medida do governo da Argentina que aumenta os impostos sobre os clubes de futebol. O presidente do país, Javier Milei, decretou na última segunda-feira um aumento das contribuições sociais que devem ser feitas pelos clubes de futebol, que até agora tinham um regime especial.
O River tachou a medida de “confiscatória” e argumentou que, “longe de construir um benefício, como erroneamente se afirma (…), ameaça reverter o impacto econômico direto e positivo das ações do clube”. Em comunicado publicado em sua página oficial, o River destacou seu trabalho social e educativo e ressaltou que o clube “gera receitas genuínas em moeda estrangeira para o país”.
O ministro de Desregulação da Argentina, Federico Sturzenegger, defendeu o decreto em sua conta na rede social X apontando que os clubes eram “milionários subsidiados pelos aposentados”, já que pagavam menos impostos do que o previsto no regime geral.
Sturzenegger disse que os clubes pagavam alíquotas de 7,5% e que, após o decreto, passarão a pagar 13%, além de um adicional de 5,56% por um ano para “recuperar o déficit incorrido nesse período”. Após a medida, a AFA divulgou um comunicado em sua página oficial intitulado “A mentira, a ordem do dia. A única verdade é a realidade”, no qual considerou que o decreto é “mais uma forma de prejudicar as instituições”.
“O único interesse do governo é pressionar os clubes sem fins lucrativos (sufocando-os) para que seja possível incorporar as SADs (sociedades esportivas), o que nada mais é do que permitir a entrada de dinheiro especulativo para fazer negócios com nossos clubes e jogadores formados em nossas categorias de base”, afirmou a entidade.
Na Argentina, os times que competem no futebol profissional são associações civis sem fins lucrativos controladas pelos sócios, que pagam mensalidade e têm direitos políticos. Desde que assumiu a presidência do país, em dezembro de 2023, Javier Milei propõe incorporar as SADs no futebol argentino, modelos similares aos das SAFs (Sociedades Anônimas do Futebol) no Brasil, o que gerou a resistência da maioria das instituições.
