This upcoming season has the potential to be a truly special one for the Kansas City Chiefs. The franchise has become accustomed to major success since Patrick Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback in 2018, but the 2025 season could very well be league legend Travis Kelce‘s final one in the NFL.
Kelce has been along every step of the way during Mahomes’ epic NFL journey to this point. Together, they have won three Super Bowls and made seven AFC Championship games. If this really is Kelce’s last season, the Chiefs want him to go out with another ring on his finger. Mahomes will be his main partner for that ride, and now he will be his partner in an off-field venture that takes their city into account.

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce’s new Kansas City steakhouse is taking shape
On Tuesday, the social media account for “1587 Prime” – a modern American steakhouse coming to Kansas City in 2025 – shared a video of Kelce and Mahomes taste testing items from the restaurant’s menu. The pressure was on, as Mahomes and Kelce are both co-founders of the steakhouse.
Thankfully, they absolutely loved the food, which was considered “The First Taste“. That should help drive up the hype behind the restaurant. Both players left comments on the post on Instagram.

Whether or not the two can deliver another Super Bowl in early 2026, it appears they will be delivering a great culinary experience at some point this year for the city.
