Mais caro da história do Flamengo, Samuel Lino explica passagem na base e afirma que ‘números não entram em campo’

Faz apenas dois dias que Samuel Lino desembarcou no Rio de Janeiro, mas, nesse tempo, foi anunciado pelo Flamengo, estreou na derrota para o Atlético-MG pela Copa do Brasil, e foi apresentado na tarde de hoje no Ninho do Urubu.

O atacante de 25 anos chega etiquetado por ser a compra mais cara da história do rubro-negro, cerca de 22 milhões de euros fixos (R$ 143 milhões), mas ele preferiu ignorar isso em sua primeira coletiva e afirmou que “números não entram em campo”.

— Ser a maior contratação da história do Flamengo é incrível, motivo de muito orgulho. Time tem muito talento, jogadores de muita qualidade, mas nomes e números não jogam. Se você não correr e der tudo de si, aqui no futebol brasileiro não vai ganhar. Vimos contra o Atlético-MG, foi um jogo muito difícil, de muita luta. Eles estavam brigando para defender e não deixavam o Flamengo criar com facilidade. Nomes e números não entram em campo. Estou muito tranquilo e feliz. Essa felicidade de estar aqui no Flamengo faz tirar essa pressão — garantiu Lino.

Antes no Atlético de Madrid, o jogador disse que teve propostas de clubes onde ganharia mais que o oferecido pelo Flamengo, mas o projeto brasileiro o atraiu mais, assim como o desejo de chegar à seleção.

— Tive propostas bem interessantes da Europa, propostas financeiramente boas da Arábia. Mas quando veio o Flamengo com uma boa proposta também, eu pensei: “é um clube gigantesco, clube que já joguei e que está sempre disputando títulos, nas primeiras colocações, com muitos jogadores na seleção brasileira”. Isso me atraiu muito mais — contou.

Após vários anos no futebol europeu, o jogador formado no São Bernardo se vê em um estágio mais maduro da carreira, e diz chegar o Flamengo pronto para ajudar em todas as pontas do jogo.

— Eu tive uma passagem de seis anos na Europa, três em Portugal. Foi um país onde tive treinadores que me ajudaram a crescer e evoluir para chegar preparado ao Atlético de Madrid. Quando cheguei lá, o Simeone me ajudou muito. É um treinador que tem uma característica bem defensiva e me ajudou muito nessa parte. Eu jogava de ala e aprendi muito sobre parte defensiva e ofensiva. Hoje, vejo que estou muito maduro dentro de campo, chego no Flamengo em um momento que estou amadurecido com estilo de jogo, tática, que sei bastante o que fazer dentro de campo — comentou Lino.

No passado, Samuel Lino passou pela base do Flamengo, onde até venceu a Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior de 2018, mas acabou não sendo aproveitado. Ele explicou sobre esse período sem guardar mágoas do clube.

— Eu tive oportunidade na base, mas não a liberdade de mostrar quem eu sou. Às vezes, as coisas passam para você aprender e amadurecer. Vir aqui naquela época me fez crescer e mudar a mentalidade para o que veio depois na carreira. Não sabia que sairia para voltar sendo a maior contratação. Acho que é destino. Hoje, estamos aqui e espero demonstrar tudo que eu tenho que não demonstrei naquela época — cravou o camisa 16.
