Leagues Cup announced on Friday that it will suspend a member of Inter Miami’s delegation from all technical areas of the tournament for “inappropriate conduct” following last Wednesday’s match against Mexico’s Atlas in Miami.
“Following the July 30 match between Inter Miami CF and Club Atlas, a member of the Inter Miami delegation displayed inappropriate conduct by entering restricted areas without official event credentials,” the Leagues Cup disciplinary committee announced in a statement.

The suspended person is Yassine Cheuko, Lionel Messi’s bodyguard, according to ESPN.

Cheuko entered the field of play after the match had ended, which ended in a 2-1 victory for Inter Miami, after an argument broke out between members of both teams in the center of the field, and pushed two Atlas players away from Messi.
The bodyguard was already denied this season to remain on the sidelines during Inter Miami matches, where he ensured that no fan who invaded the pitch could approach Messi, as Cheuko himself revealed in an interview.
Regarding the incident against Atlas, Matheus Doria said at a press conference that he understood that the bodyguard “is there to protect him from a possible entry of a fan,” but argued that “he does not have that permission” with respect to opposing players.
