Gauffová letos vyhrála Roland Garros a je dvojnásobnou grandslamovou šampionkou. Mbokové však podlehla po 63 minutách, nevyužila ani jeden z pěti brejkbolů. K mečbolu soupeřce pomohla šestou dvojchybou zápasu a zakončila ho bekhendem do sítě.
Kanaďanka se ve čtvrtfinále utká se Španělkou Jessicou Bouzasovou. Další dvojici tvoří Jelena Rybakinová a Marta Kosťuková. Dnes čeká osmifinále Karolínu Muchovou proti Madison Keysové z USA.
