O brasileiro Gabriel Bortoleto, da Sauber, conquistou a sexta colocação do Grande Prêmio da Hungria neste domingo. Seu melhor resultado na Fórmula 1 é ainda a melhor posição de um brasileiro em oito anos: em 2017, Felipe Massa foi sexto no GP do Bahrein. A corrida realizada em Hungaroring teve Lando Norris, da McLaren, em primeiro, por decidir fazer uma parada a menos nos boxes, em relação aos seus adversários.
Bortoleto, que largou em 7º, ganhou uma posição nos primeiros momentos de prova, ao ultrapassar Lance Stroll, da Aston Martin. Em sua primeira temporada na Fórmula 1, essa é a sua melhor posição conquistada pelo brasileiro. Até então, ele havia figurado entre os dez primeiros colocados em outras duas oportunidades: no GP da Áustria, em junho, quando foi 8º, além do GP da Bélgica, no último domingo, quando ficou em 9º.
A vitória de Lando Norris — que largou em terceiro — foi possível graças à estratégia de parar nos boxes apenas uma vez, enquanto os adversários fizeram isso duas vezes. Nesta única parada, ainda, ele e a equipe conseguiram o feito de ter o pit stop mais rápido da temporada, com 1,9 segundos apenas. Com pneus duros, o piloto da McLaren assumiu a ponta e ainda segurou o companheiro de equipe Oscar Piastri, que terminou em segundo, nas curvas finais.
