Shedeur Sanders boldly predicts his new cleats will sell out after dazzling Browns display

Shedeur Sanders hasn’t had the easiest introduction to life in the National Football League, having seen his NFL Draft dreams go up in smoke as he slid spectacularly out of the first round.

Having been highly touted coming out of the Colorado Buffaloes program, Sanders had been widely projected to be the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Shedeur Sanders feels at home in NFL debut with David Njoku, Myles Garrett and Jimmy Horn Jr

Yet concerns about his father, Deion’s influence over his career quickly snowballed into what appeared to be a league-wide panic.

Not only did Sanders not get drafted on the opening night of the event, but he wasn’t touched until the fifth round.

It was eventually the Cleveland Browns who took a gamble on his talent, and he lost an awful lot of money as a result.

However, Sanders has not been one to sulk and stew in his draft disaster, he has gotten to work in pre-season with the Browns and is already trying to figure out ways to make up his shortfall in income.

NIKE Prime DT 96 cleats are going to sell out

Whilst Shedeur was one of the athletes to benefit most from the relaxing of NIL rules during his collegiate career, his marketability is clear for all to see.

Just like his father, he is polarising. Those who dislike him will continue to do so, but those who stan for him do it to an incredible level.

His name being attached to a product makes it more likely to sell, that’s the reality. Sanders may not be a starting QB in the NFL in 2025, but he will be able to be as commercial viable than his counterparts, if not more so.

His most recent venture is with NIKE, with the sportswear giant releasing his Prime DT 96 cleats in the run up to Friday’s clash with the Carolina Panthers.

Sanders played well in the moments he was on the field, making a number of impressive throws, including a touchdown pass which really caught the eye.

Yet, in his post-match press conference it wasn’t the play on the field which was being talked about… but rather the cleats he was showcasing whilst on the field.

Shedeur is not an individual who lacks confidence, and this was clear with his boast that the cleats would surely sell out.

“I gifted a lot of receivers some Prime DT 96s,” Sanders declared. “It was just a gift of my appreciation to them.

“Some wore them, some didn’t, but I couldn’t give them to everybody because they don’t be having a lot in stock.”

The shoe itself is linked to his father’s career too, with the name of the design coming as a result of Deion Sanders’ own shoe from 1996.

It was originally released as Deion’s third signature shoe design with NIKE back in 1996, and now his son Shedeur is taking over the marketing of them.

We're only six games through the 2025 NFL regular season, but the Cleveland Browns can basically close the chapter on this year already.
