Injuries have gotten in the way of Caitlin Clark during her second year in the WNBA and with the Indiana Fever, causing her to appear in only 13 of 32 games this season.
Despite this, it is undeniable that her presence on and off the court catches the attention of fans. Her plays and achievements have brought many of them closer to the sport, making it more popular among fans and establishing her as one of the league’s most prominent figures, as well as a role model for young children who dream of becoming sports stars.

Like any athlete, Clark also had her idols as a child and closely followed in the footsteps of her role models in the sport.
During her appearance on the WNBA legend’s podcast, “Bird’s Eye View with Sue Bird,” Clark admitted that she admired two NBA players: Stephen Curry and Jimmer Fredette, although she focused on the influence the latter had on her career.
“Honestly, I grew up a basketball junkie. So, I think even if you’re not intentionally watching and paying attention, you’re just absorbing what you’re consuming,” Clark told Bird.
I always watch Steph or even Jimmer, who I love. Like I told Jimmer this when we were doing Sue’s Places. He was one of my favorite players growing up, and there was the famous song ‘Teach Me How To Jimmer.’ And I had the shirt that said ‘Teach Me How To Jimmer.’ If you haven’t seen it, look it up on YouTube. It’s a ‘Teach Me How To Dougie’ remix. It’s a teach me how to Jimmer. It’s hilarious.
The former shooting guard shone during his college career at Brigham Young University, averaging nearly 29 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in his senior year with the Cougars, and was named National College Player of the Year in 2011.
However, he did not have the same success in the NBA. His best numbers came during his rookie year, when he averaged 7.6 points, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 rebounds with the Sacramento Kings. He had much more success playing for the Shanghai Sharks. On April 23, 2025, he announced his retirement from professional basketball.
Fortunately, Clark is proving that her college success has successfully translated to the WNBA, being named Rookie of the Year and setting several league records.
Now, the Indiana Fever is preparing to host and face Paige Bueckers’ Dallas Wings on Tuesday, August 12, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. However, her presence on the court has not been officially confirmed.

Steven Fisk birdied the final three holes to win his first PGA Tour title at the Sanderson Farms Championship.He finished on Sunday with an 8-under 64 to win in Mississippi.
