Americký rekordman oroduje za návrat ruské vlajky do tenisu

Ruští a běloruští sportovci kvůli válečné agresi na Ukrajině nesmějí v mnoha sportech soutěžit buď vůbec, nebo pouze bez národní vlajky. Nejinak tomu je v tenise, kde hráči ze zmíněných zemí musí od začátku března 2022, pakliže chtějí nastupovat na grandslamech nebo turnajích WTA či ATP, startovat jako neutrální tenisté.

Po více než třech letech si na chybějící vlaječky u hráčů z Ruska a Běloruska už většina společnosti alespoň částečně zvykla. V pátek se však svým příspěvkem na sociální síti X pokusil rozvířit vody bývalý americký tenista Isner. „Nemohou ruští tenisté dostat svoje vlaječky zpátky? Už je to trochu směšné,“ vyťukal na svém profilu.

Reakce na sebe nenechaly dlouho čekat. „Je to absurdní od prvního dne. Ti tenisté nemůžou za to, v jaké zemi se narodili, kteří lidé jí vládnou a jak ji vedou,“ stojí v jednom z příspěvků.

Diskuze se pak stočila trochu jiným směrem. „Popravdě ani nepodávání si rukou po zápase je také směšné,“ napsal další z fanoušků, na což Isner, rekordman na okruhu ATP v počtu es (14 470), reagoval emotikonem zasaženého terče.

Mezi komentujícími pod příspěvkem bývalého tenisty se objevily také nesouhlasné komentáře. „Můžeme spíše vyhodit Rusy z mezinárodních turnajů? Nemají mít žádný prostor v civilizovaných zemích. Už je to směšné,“ nebo „Můžou Ukrajinci dostat zpátky svou zemi?“

Příspěvek se dostal i k dalším lidem ze světa tenisového sportu, největší pozornost však vzbudil někdejší ukrajinský hráč Stachovskij, který byl na žebříčku ATP nejvýše na 31. místě. Isnerovi i všem ostatním poslal zřejmý vzkaz.

„Drahý Johne Isnere, rád bych tě pozval na Ukrajinu. Po týdnu stráveném u nás mi můžeš říct, jestli si myslíš, že si sportovci zaslouží vlajku zpět, nebo ne. Ani jeden z hráčů, které obhajuješ, nevyjádřil lítost ani neodsoudil invazi na Ukrajinu. Možná ti to osvěží paměť. Navíc, záběry, které vidíš, jsou z minulého týdne z naší země,“ napsal rodák z Kyjeva a zároveň zveřejnil video s výbuchy v ukrajinském hlavním městě.

Oba tenisté se na kurtech během své kariéry střetli dvakrát. A zatímco v roce 2009 se z vítězství na tvrdém povrchu v Miami radoval Isner, o dva roky později na antuce ve španělském Madridu slavil vítězství bývalý ukrajinský tenista.
