Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s start against the Angels was one of the most difficult of his career, and the pitcher did not hesitate to admit it. The bad streak began with a home run on the first pitch, a blow from which he could not fully recover
“The home run on the first pitch and then after that I allowed another run, that took me out of rhythm a little bit. As the game went on, I tried to make some adjustments, but unfortunately I didn’t get them,” the player told SportsNetLA
“As I was getting ready for the game… my stuff wasn’t that bad. But unfortunately, I started to allow runs before I found my rhythm,” Yamamoto added.
Ohtani’s return in the face of adversity
Despite the debacle on the mound, the Dodgers’ offense attempted a late comeback. The highlight of the night was Shohei Ohtani‘s return to his old home, Angel Stadium, where he hit an emotional home run that marked the 100th of his career at that stadium
Although Ohtani’s effort was remarkable, the Angels’ early lead was insurmountable and the game ended in a 7-4 victory for the home team. Now, attention turns to how the Dodgers and Yamamoto in particular will respond to this setback.
