Federico Chiesa wird Liverpool diesen Sommer nicht verlassen – zumindest nach jetzigem Stand. Trainer Arne Slot hat laut „Gazzetta dello Sport“ eindeutig klargemacht, dass ein Abgang derzeit nicht zur Debatte steht. Grund: Nach den Abgängen von Luis Diaz (zum FC Bayern) und Darwin Nunez ist Liverpools Offensivabteilung dünn besetzt.
Trotz Spekulationen um einen Wechsel (Neapel und Inter Mailand haben großes Interesse) plant Slot weiter mit dem italienischen Flügelspieler. Die italienische Zeitung berichtet: „Die Antwort des Trainers ist eindeutig.“

Die Diskussion um Chiesas Zukunft hatte zuletzt Fahrt aufgenommen – auch, weil er die Asien-Reise zur Saisonvorbereitung verpasst hatte. Doch laut Klubangaben lag das nur an muskulären Problemen, Chiesa blieb zur Behandlung in Liverpool. Beim Community Shield gegen Crystal Palace saß er zwar auf der Bank – kam aber nicht zum Einsatz.
Nach dem tragischen Tod von Diogo Jota und dem Verkauf von Diaz und Nunez ist Liverpool gezwungen, im Angriff umzudenken.

Jetzt könnte er unter Slot eine neue Chance bekommen – vorausgesetzt, es kommt kein Transferhammer in letzter Minute.

Newcastle's latest bid for Yoane Wissa has been rejected by Brentford.The Magpies made the bid earlier on Wednesday, but it has now been turned down by their Premier League rivals. Aston Villa are interested in signing Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.Villa are understood to have explored the conditions of a deal for the 24-year-old, who played under head coach Unai Emery at Villarreal.
