Em sua temporada mais artilheira da carreira — quatro gols até aqui —, Martinelli enalteceu a sua evolução com o técnico Renato Gaúcho, que faz questão de cobrá-lo para “pisar na área”, o que tem surtido efeito dentro de campo.
—Durante os treinamentos, ele fala constantemente: “Chega na área, pisa na área. O volante que pisa na área faz gol, fica mais reconhecido ainda”. Recentemente, o presidente Mário Bittencourt comentou o aumento da procura de clubes do exterior por jogadores do Fluminense após a Copa do Mundo de Clubes.
