O São Paulo surpreendeu no mercado da bola e enfim acertou a chegada de mais um lateral-direito, posição que estava carente desde a saída de Igor Vinícius negociado com o Santos. Maílton, destaque da Chapecoense na temporada, mas que tinha seus direitos ligados ao Metalist, da Ucrânia, foi contratado e vai assinar vínculo até dezembro de 2027.
Na chegada a São Paulo, o novo reforço tricolor falou com o repórter Gabriel Sá, da Arquibancada Tricolor: “É inexplicável, a ficha ainda não caiu. A partir do momento que fizer os exames e assinar o contrato, vai cair a ficha. Não tem como descrever ainda. Estou muito feliz, empolgado e se Deus quiser vai dar tudo certo. Muito obrigado pelas mensagens que venho recebendo nos últimos dias.”
Nas redes sociais, alguns torcedores ficaram bem empolgados com a chegada de Maílton para reforçar o elenco na sequência da temporada e um deles até comparou o jogador de 27 anos com Cicinho, ídolo do São Paulo nos anos 2000 e hoje comentarista esportivo da Band.
Para fechar com o reforço para a lateral, o Tricolor conseguiu um acordo considerado muito bom com o Metalist. O time ucraniano estava devendo cerca de 800 mil euros (R$ 5 milhões na cotação atual) ao time brasileiro, referente à contratação de Paulinho Boia, em 2021. Por essa dívida, o Metalist havia sofrido “transfer ban” e não podia contratar novos jogadores.
Desta forma, o São Paulo, que inicialmente tentava a contratação de Maílton por empréstimo, acabou acertando com o atleta em definitivo e não precisou mexer nos cofres do clube. Agora, o elenco de Hernán Crespo conta com o Cédric Soares, Maik e Maílton como opções para o setor de lateral/ala pelo lado direito.
Reforços para as quartas da Libertadores
Além de Maílton, o São Paulo poderá ter mais outras cinco novidades até o primeiro jogo das quartas de final da Libertadores. A lista conta com Oscar, Arboleda, Wendell e Luiz Gustavo, todos em recuperação de problemas médicos, e ainda Rafael Tolói, zagueiro recém-contratado após muitos anos jogando na Itália.
Próximo jogo do São Paulo
Depois da comemorada vaga nas quartas da Libertadores, o elenco do São Paulo não terá muito tempo para descanso já que no fim de semana o time terá mais um compromisso pelo Brasileirão. Neste domingo (24), o clube recebe a visita do Atlético-MG, pela 21ª rodada, em jogo que terá início às 20h30 (horário de Brasília), e será disputado no MorumBIS.
