Bobby Witt Jr. continues to make history and confirm why he is the future of baseball

While the Royals continue to fight for a postseason spot, Bobby Witt Jr. continues to stand out, as the 25-year-old shortstop reached his 20th multi-stolen base game in just 595 MLB games. This feat comes just two days after he hit the 100th home run of his career, a combination that puts him on an extremely exclusive list.

According to OptaSTATS, only two other players in Major League history have hit at least 100 home runs and 20 multi-steal games before their 600th game: Eric Davis and Hanley Ramirez. Witt Jr. not only joins that select group, he does so at an impressive pace, establishing himself as a constant threat both at the plate and on the bases.

The catch of the year made by San Francisco Giants outfielder in an incredible play

Bobby Witt Jr.’s 2025 stats: The best version of a future MVP?

With a batting average of .296, 18 home runs, 69 RBIs and 34 stolen bases, Witt has become the offensive heart of the Royals. His versatility, explosiveness and consistency make him one of the most complete players in the American League this season. His combination of tools makes him not only the present of Kansas City, but one of the pillars of the future of baseball.

The comparisons are not minor, Eric Davis, one of the most complete talents of the 1980s, saw his career affected by injuries, while Hanley Ramirez had a 15-year career full of achievements, including three All-Star Games, a batting title and the Rookie of the Year award. Now Bobby Witt Jr. is starting to build a narrative that could take him even further.

Royals dream of postseason as Bobby Witt Jr. leads the way

Kansas City came into Thursday with a 65-62 record, just 2.5 games out of the final American League wild-card spot. After their run to the Division Series last season, the team is keeping alive the ambition to return to the playoffs and they are doing so with a player who is becoming more and more decisive by the day.

If Witt Jr. continues his ascent, he could lead the Royals to a new postseason and enter the conversation for individual awards. At 25 years old, he is already breaking records, matching legends and setting a pace that few can match.
