Slovenský obraz hry se začal sypat už ve čtvrté minutě, kdy si obránce sám srazil do branky přihrávku Novotného. A od té chvíle už nefungovalo pro soupeře nic. Naopak český tým se rozstřílel a už po 35. minutách utkání vedl 8:0. Slovákům nepomohla ani výměna gólmana na začátku druhé části.
Byť se svěřenci trenéra Petra Frühaufa snažili a ve třetí třetině dali dva góly, šlo jen o kosmetickou úpravu skóre a debaklu nezabránili. Desátou branku českého národního týmu vstřelil Martin Švec, pro kterého šlo o premiérovou trefu v dresu dvacítek.
Výkon české dvacítky se musel líbit i divákům, mezi kterými nechyběl kouč seniorské reprezentace Radim Rulík.

Zápas si nenechal ujít ani Radim Rulík.
Po utkání pak logicky odcházel spokojenější Augusta, který výkon mužstva chválil. „Hráli jsme dobře, měli jsme výborný pohyb, byli silnější na kotouči. Podařilo se nám vstřelit hezké góly a vytvořit si náskok. Zápas jsme od začátku do konce kontrolovali.“
Naproti tomu jeho protějšek na slovenské straně moc důvodů ke spokojenosti neměl a při podávání rukou po zápase směrem k Augustovi pouze s lehkým úsměvem utrousil: „Nemohli jste v půlce zápasu přestat?“
Slovenská média pak dokonce na adresu hokejistů hovořila o „výprasku“ či „totální destrukci“. Přitom dvojciferný debakl neschytala dvacítka našich sousedů poprvé. Například v dubnu dostala šestnáct branek od Švédů, před rokem jedenáct od Finska a na mistrovství světa 2023 desítku od USA.
Pro web Šport.sk se pak Frühauf rozpovídal o výkonu svých svěřenců více. „Nemůžeme upadnout do takové té slovenské mentality, když dostaneme nešťastný gól. Inkasujeme jeden nebo dva a zápas je pro nás ztracený. Ale to je ta chvíle, kdy musíme zapnout, ukázat sebevědomí a vyhrávat souboje,“ burcoval kouč Slováků.

I přes rozdílnou náladu v týmech, budou mít teď oba trenéři před sebou těžký úkol. Slovenský kouč bude muset nabudit své hráče a Augusta klidnit euforii. „Hráčům jsem pogratuloval, je hezké turnaj začít takto. Ale zároveň jsem jim řekl, že utkání skončilo a už bychom se měli soustředit na to další s Finskem, které máme i ve skupině na mistrovství,“ přiznával kouč.
Další utkání čeká české mladíky už dnes, v 18.30 se utkají právě s Finskem. Následují duely se Švýcarskem a Švédskem. Slováci mají před sebou na oklepání den volna.
