Fans, players, and even the team’s coach say it: Indiana Fever has managed to remain resilient amid a season plagued by injuries and defeats.

This year, the team suffered injuries that ended the season for Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald, and Sophie Cunningham. In addition, Caitlin Clark and her prolonged absence due to a groin injury have also affected the team, especially on the offensive side.

White admits the team’s weakness

Despite Indiana’s efforts, which have been considerable, it is undeniable that the absence of Clark and Cunningham’s competitive spirit is beginning to be felt. And Stephanie White knows it.

The head coach is in her first year leading the team, but she has identified their weak point after the Fever’s recent 75-63 loss to the Golden State Valkyries.

I just felt like we weren’t aggressive. We were very tentative offensively,” White told the press. “We didn’t play with any kind of pace… We allowed them to set their defense, and they’re one of the best defensive teams in the league, and you can’t allow them to do that… We just had some mental breakdowns that killed us and allowed them to go on runs.”

However, the 48-year-old coach also revealed her next goal: “We have to learn from this one, and we have to go into Phoenix and we have to be better.”

In 2025, with an average of 18.2 points, 8.9 assists, and 5 rebounds per game, Clark made it clear that she is vital to the team, offering unquestionable offensive strength, despite having only played 13 games this year. Cunningham, meanwhile, averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists after 30 games with Indiana.

Meanwhile, the team has relied on the talent of Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell. Now, sitting in eighth place in the WNBA standings with four games remaining, the Fever will fight to be one of the eight teams competing in the playoffs.

On Tuesday, September 2, they will travel to PHX Arena to face the Phoenix Mercury. On Friday, September 5, they will host Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. On Sunday, September 7, they will face the Washington Mystics at CFG Bank Arena Baltimore, and finally, on Tuesday, September 9, they will face the Minnesota Lynx at home.

Ravens suffer ‘complete disappointment’ after 34-point loss, the second-worst defeat of John Harbaugh era

The Baltimore Ravens' 2025 season can summed up by what occurred after Jaylin Noel's touchdown on Sunday that stretched Houston Texans' lead to 31 points early in the fourth quarter. Noel celebrated his first career touchdown by mimicking Ray Lewis' patented squirrel dance. Noel's celebration was interrupted by Ravens cornerback Jaire Alexander, who tried to steal the ball away before shoving Noel. Alexander's act was symbolic of the pain a proud franchise is currently enduring. Baltimore, the heavy preseason favorite to repeat as AFC North champion, is now 1-4 through five games. Sunday's 44-10 loss was its worst defense since 2017 and is tied for the biggest defeat of the John Harbaugh era.  "Just complete disappointment," Harbaugh said afterward. "We're gonna have to find a way to turn it around and figure out who we are this next week and into the bye and […]

Vikings’ missed field goal vs. Browns appears to hit camera wire and goes completely unnoticed

Getty Images The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Cleveland Browns in London on Sunday, 21-17, thanks to an impressive 80-yard game-winning touchdown drive orchestrated by Carson Wentz. However, there was a missed call in this game that made life tougher on the Vikings. In the fourth quarter, the Vikings trotted out Will Reichard to attempt a 51-yard field goal that would have tied the game at 17 apiece. The kick was wide right, and looked like it had some funky action on it. That's because the ball appeared to hit a camera wire.It went unnoticed at the time, but check out videos of the kick, here: If this was noticed by the officials, Reichard would have been given another chance to kick. Here's the language from the NFL rulebook, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk: "[I]f a loose ball in play […]

Same old Chargers? The one thing ruining Justin Herbert’s MVP case, L.A.’s hopes of deep playoff run

The Chargers' vanishing act came in a hurry Sunday against the Commanders. When the offense took the field for its opening drive of the second half, Los Angeles' 10-0 lead had become a 17-10 deficit in 10 minutes of game time. The offensive line would be the next thing to go up in smoke. On first and 10, an unblocked Jordan Magee came flying in on a blitz, and Justin Herbert quite literally disappeared under a sea of white uniforms and burgundy helmets. It officially went down as a sack by Johnny Newton, but any of the four Commanders creating a Herbert sandwich could have been credited. No matter. Herbert has bailed the Chargers out plenty of times before, and it looked like he would again, firing a dart to Quentin Johnston for 23 yards. The only problem? Right tackle Trey Pipkins was […]
