Travis Kelce and Andy Reid’s attitude during the game marks a radical change that does not go unnoticed by fans

The Kansas City Chiefs‘ victory over the Baltimore Ravens was decisive, but it was the behavior of Travis Kelce and Andy Reid on the sideline that generated significant attention after their near-bust-up in Week 3.

This time, appeared relaxed and cheerful throughout, a notable shift from their tense public exchange earlier this season against the New York Giants when tensions between player and coach boiled over.

Kyle Larson dropped by Chiefs trainning for a meet and greet with Mahomes, Kelce and others

The Chiefs cruised to a 37-20 win at Arrowhead Stadium, overpowering a Ravens team severely depleted by injuries to key players such as Lamar Jackson, Roquan Smith, and Marlon Humphrey.

With Patrick Mahomes leading the offense effectively by scoring four touchdowns, each to a different receiver, Kansas City’s performance was commanding from the opening drive. It was reminiscent of their 2022 form.

Yet beyond the scoreboard, it was the relationship between Reid and his veteran tight end that drew widespread commentar as the pair, often viewed as central to the Chiefs‘ success, were seen embracing during the game.

It was an image strikingly different from the heated argument they shared at MetLife Stadium against the Giants on September 22 and fans loved it, suggesting there is harmony in the locker room.

One fan wrote via X.com, formerly Twitter, “Anyone who thinks those 2 don’t love each other are woefully ignorant.”

Whilst another joked that Kelce had been teasing his coach during the game by writing, “He’s saying to Andy, ‘What can we give them to rant about this week?'”

Is Travis Kelce already being saved for the 2025 NFL Playoffs?

Despite being one of the league’s most reliable tight ends, Kelce‘s production in the red zone has been limited so far this season as through the first weeks of the campaign, he has managed just one touchdown-a 37-yarder against the Los Angeles Chargers.

This has raised questions over whether his role in scoring situations is being intentionally scaled back or if his signs of slowing down as he hits his mid-30s is simply continuing on after a tough 2024.

Statistically, Kelce remains an important target. He has registered 15 receptions for 182 yards, averaging 12.1 yards per catch.

While that figure would rank as the third-lowest yards-per-catch average of his career if sustained, it remains within one yard of his typical seasonal output outside of 2016 and 2020.

At 36 years old, such consistency underscores his continued value to Mahomes and the offense and some analysts suggest Reid and Mahomes may be deliberately limiting Kelce‘s exposure near the goal line, where defensive contact is heaviest, to preserve his availability for later in the season.

This mirrors the approach taken during the 2023 campaign, when Kelce saw limited regular-season action compared to 2022 with the emergence of Rashee Rice down the back stretch, but played a pivotal role in the postseason.

Across three playoff games that year, he posted 32 receptions, 355 yards, and three touchdowns, helping Kansas City secure another Super Bowl title by beating the San Francisco 49ers.

With Rice sidelined and Xavier Worthy only recently returning, Kelce has once again carried a heavy share of the receiving workload in the opening weeks.

His ability to sustain drives, even if not finishing them with touchdowns, has been crucial in keeping the Chiefs balanced offensively over the years – does he have one last hurrah in him?

Can Billy Napier save his job again? Upset win over Texas a good start as Florida offense shows signs of life

Florida coach Billy Napier operates best with his back against the wall. For a second straight year, his Gators looked dead in the water before the midway point of the season. And, for a second straight year, Napier might be on the path back to redemption after Florida notched its second win of the season in a stunning 29-21 upset of No. 9 Texas. At the very least, his seat has cooled for another week. It's a movie that Florida fans have seen before. Fresh off a losing season in 2023, Florida started 4-4 in 2024, including a 13-point loss to unranked Texas A&M, a 24-point loss to Miami and a 14-point loss to Georgia. But just days after that loss to Georgia, Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin reaffirmed his faith in his embattled football coach. A rejuvenated Napier led Florida to a […]
