The ‘enemies’ Checo Perez will want to silence in Formula 1 with Cadillac

Article arrow_drop_down

Checo Perez is preparing his return to Formula 1 with Cadillac full of excitement and desire to prove that he is still in top form to compete with the best. The Mexican has many fans who idolize him, but also many detractors within the Formula 1 paddock, real enemies who are waiting for him to fail. That is why Sergio wants to silence all those who celebrated his departure from Red Bull last December.

1. DAD VERSTAPPEN

Checo Pérez trains with Cadillac F1 simulator and sparks buzz after unexpected clip

Jos Verstappen is one of those characters who spent the last few years criticising Sergio Perez, believing that he was detrimental to his son. Max Verstappen’s father showed more than one lack of respect for the Mexican’s driving and never had a kind word of encouragement for him.

2. HELMUT MARKO

The Austrian is one of Red Bull’s heavyweights and, like Verstappen’s father, always spoke disparagingly of Sergio Perez. He always criticised him and never supported him. Everyone agrees that Marko was key to Checo leaving the team despite having another year on his contract. Surely the Mexican will want to prove to him with Cadillac that he was completely wrong.

3. RED BULL

Checo left the Austrian team in a bad way. He was fired when he had one more year on his contract. The team succumbed to the terrible pressures it was under and the truth is that the decision is proving to be wrong, as first Lawson and now Tsunoda are not living up to expectations. Checo was clearly better than these two drivers. That’s why the Mexican will probably want to show his best side to make it very clear that they were wrong.

4. LIAN LAWSON

The current Racing Bulls driver was the one who replaced Checo at Red Bull, but he only lasted two races due to his poor performance. Ironically, he has been one of the most critical of Checo’s return to Formula 1, mainly because he believes that Cadillac should focus on young drivers and not someone so veteran. It is another reason for the Mexican to try to silence him next season.

5. GABRIEL BORTOLETO

The Brazilian driver is another who agrees with Lawson’s idea that Cadillac has made a mistake in hiring such veteran drivers as Checo and Bottas. He understands that they should have given the Formula 2 winner a chance. Logically, Checo will want to prove him wrong.

6. ROBERT DOORNBOS

The former Dutch driver, Verstappen’s compatriot, has been very harsh in his criticism of Checo in his last season in Formula 1. He even mocked him on more than one occasion and tried to ridicule him in his comparison with Max. He is another example of those components of the F1 circus who are sure to have been upset by Checo’s return and another one that the Mexican will want to silence.

‘He’s a Beast’: Hard-Charging Cam Skattebo Sparking The Revived Giants

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Jaxson Dart has lit a fire underneath the Giants’ franchise. But it’s Cam Skattebo that’s providing the spark. The rookie running back with a nose for contact has been the kind of lightning bolt that the Giants have been missing for a while. He showed his power again on Thursday night when he rushed for 98 yards and three touchdowns in the Giants’ shocking, 34-17 upsets of the Philadelphia Eagles. But it’s not the numbers that have turned the 5-foot-10, 215-pound wrecking ball into an instant crowd favorite. It’s his powerful, hard-nosed, and maybe even reckless style where almost every run he has turns into a potential car wreck — one that he somehow always survives."He’s a beast," Giants edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux told me after the game. "He’s a f—ing beast. He energizes. He’s a fighter. I […]

‘Dunne is a good fit’ – Red Bull boss drops hint over Irish star

With the dust having settled on McLaren's sudden release of Alex Dunne, Sky Sports F1 assess how the young Irish star becoming a free agent could impact the driver market.Ahead of last weekend's Singapore Grand Prix, a McLaren announcement came from nowhere stating that the team had ended its contract with the 19-year-old, who had been part of their driver development programme for the last two years. Given his impressive F1 debut in Austrian Grand Prix practice in June and a solid showing this year in Formula 2, Dunne seemed an ideal candidate for McLaren to keep hold of in the event they were to lose either Oscar Piastri or Lando Norris at some point in the next few years. Therefore, attention quickly switched to what could have been behind the highly-rated Dunne's release, with it only being a matter of […]
