Der FC Barcelona musste am zweiten Spieltage der Ligaphase der Champions League die erste Niederlage einstecken. Im Spitzenspiel gegen Titelverteidiger Paris Saint-Germain musste sich der LaLiga-Meister mit 1:2 geschlagen geben.
Natürlich kann man gegen den aktuellen Champion verlieren, aber die Pleite hat die Schwächen von Barça klar aufgezeigt: die Abwehr.
Henry knöpft sich Flick vor
Das ist auch Ex-Weltstar Thierry Henry nicht verborgen geblieben. Der ehemalige Stürmer, der von 2007 bis 2010 selbst bei Barcelona spielte, gibt dafür Hansi Flick die Schuld, wirft ihm Sturheit bei seiner Taktik vor.

In seiner Analyse als TV-Experte bei CBS Sports kritisierte der Welt- und Europameister vor allem die hochstehende Abwehrreihe der Blaugrana: „Man kann die Champions League nicht mit so einer hohen Linie spielen, es tut mir leid. Wenn du gegen große Teams spielst, wirst du dadurch verwundbar.“
Henry erklärte weiter: „Jeder einfache Lauf kann in einem Tor enden. Und genau das ist gegen PSG passiert. Wir erwähnen es immer wieder, aber sie wollten es nicht ändern.“
Dem ehemaligen deutschen Bundestrainer warf er dabei Sturheit vor. „Manchmal möchten Trainer unbedingt an ihrer Strategie festhalten, aber in wichtigen Spielen kann das teuer werden“, so Henry. Für Partien auf höchstem Niveau und gegen starke Gegner fordert er mehr Vorsicht von den Katalanen.

Die spanische „Marca“ sprach von einem „Realitätscheck für Barça“ und analysierte weiter: „Dieses Spiel zeigt Barcelona, dass noch deutliches Verbesserungspotenzial besteht – eine Verbesserung, die unerlässlich ist, wenn sie wirklich um den Titel kämpfen wollen.“
