Letzter Wiesn-Tag in München. Als besondere Attraktion präsentierte der FC Bayern Basketball da zum ungleichen Nord-Süd-Klassiker gegen die Veolia Towers Hamburg den Fans im BMW Park den EM-Pokal – und einen ungefährdeten Sieg: 96:79 (47:35).
Vor drei Wochen hatte die Nationalmannschaft in Riga den Titel geholt. Mit dabei: fünf Profis des deutschen Meisters. Aber am Familienspieltag war nicht nur die Silberware da, sondern auch Justus Hollatz (24)! Der angeschlagene EM-Held (Knöchel) gab nach einer Extra-Pause ausgerechnet gegen seinen Ex-Klub sein Comeback!
Hollatz hatte einen starken Einstand. „Außer, dass meine Beine relativ schwer sind, kam ich gut rein“, sagte der gebürtige Hamburger und strahlte.
[–>Doch ein anderer Münchner hatte noch mehr Grund zur Freude: Kamar Baldwin (28). Denn Dyn-Moderator Sebastian „C-Bas“ Meichsner überreichte dem Aufbauspieler (13 Punkte, 8 Assits) nach dem Spiel eine ganz besondere Auszeichnung: ein Wiesn-Herz aus Lebkuchen mit der Aufschrift „Ohne Di geht nix“!
Meichsner hatte die süße Überraschung vor der Partie extra besorgt: „Ich dachte mir, im Liga-Alltag gibt es keinen ‚Player of the Game‘-Award. Wieso führen wie diesen nicht zumindest zum Wiesn-Finale ein. Und das ist jetzt der inoffizielle Award für den MVP dieses Spiels.“
Baldwin war überrascht: „Ich war zum ersten Mal auf dem Oktoberfest. Es war eine großartige Erfahrung.

Zwischen dem einzigen deutschen Euroleague-Vertreter (Etat: gut 30 Mio. Euro) und den Türmen (6 Mio.) liegen nicht nur finanziell Welten. Die Bayern konnten es sich nach der Doppelspieltags-Woche in der Königsklasse sogar leisten, Kapitän Vladimir Lucic (36), Stefan Jovic (34), Wenyen Gabriel (28/Schulter) und Europameister Oscar Da Silva (27/Finger ins Auge) zu schonen. Trotzdem lagen sie nach fokussiertem Start vor den Augen von Klub-Boss Herbert Hainer (71) und Matthias Sammer (58) schnell beruhigend mit 25:13 vorn (8.).
Die Hamburger kämpften, zeigten 30 Minuten eine ordentliche Leistung und kamen im zweiten Viertel noch mal auf vier Punkte ran (38:34). Erneut überzeugte vor allem Center-Talent Zacharie Perrin (21) mit 13 Punkten und 8 Rebounds. Doch sein Team brachte sich durch einzelne defensive Total-Aussetzer und 21 Ballverluste erneut um den Lohn.
Damit haben die Türme jetzt saisonübergreifend zehn (!) Pflichtspiele verloren. Den letzten Sieg feierten sie Ostersonntag – ausgerechnet gegen die übermächtigen Bayern. Doch diesmal zogen die Münchner ihr Ding gnadenlos und effektiv durch.

Bester Werfer war Real-Madrid-Zugang Xavier Rathan-Mayes (31) mit 18 Punkten, 5 Assists und 7 (!) geklauten Bällen.
Die Towers fliegen gleich weiter zum EuroCup-Spiel am Mittwoch bei Aris Thessaloniki Mittwoch in Griechenland (19 Uhr, Magenta Sport). Flügelspieler Zsombor Maronka (23) frustriert: „Wir haben uns für drei Viertel gut gehalten, dann sind sie uns weggelaufen. Wir müssen uns verbessern und dann weitersehen.“
