Cristiano Ronaldo alcançou mais um recorde nesta terça-feira (14/10). O craque português marcou dois gols no empate de Portugal com a Hungria e alcançou uma marca impressionante. Aos 40 anos, o atacante se isolou como o maior artilheiro das Eliminatórias da Copa do Mundo. Ele alcançou a marca de 40 gols na competição e ultrapassou Carlos Ruiz da Guatemala.
O jogo terminou empatado em 2 a 2. Mesmo assim o destaque ficou todo com o capitão da seleção portuguesa. Ele mostrou mais uma vez que continua decisivo mesmo após duas décadas atuando no mais alto nível do futebol mundial.
Portugal começou atrás no placar mas logo reagiu. Aos 22 minutos do primeiro tempo, Cristiano Ronaldo completou um cruzamento rasteiro de Semedo e empatou a partida. Pouco depois, Nuno Mendes fez novo cruzamento e o camisa 7 virou o jogo com uma finalização precisa. Nos acréscimos Szoboszlai empatou novamente para a Hungria.
Apesar do resultado o feito individual de Cristiano chamou a atenção da imprensa e dos torcedores. Ele marcou 40 gols em 51 partidas pelas Eliminatórias. Assim ultrapassou Carlos Ruiz que havia feito 39 gols em 47 jogos pela Guatemala e mantinha o recorde há mais de uma década.

Com esse novo recorde Cristiano Ronaldo reforça seu status como um dos maiores artilheiros da história do futebol. Agora ele soma 948 gols oficiais na carreira e 142 deles pela seleção portuguesa. Dessa forma ele segue como o maior goleador de seleções em todos os tempos.
Além disso Cristiano busca jogar sua sexta Copa do Mundo em 2026 o que seria outro feito histórico. Ele já participou dos Mundiais de 2006 2010 2014 2018 e 2022. Mesmo aos 40 anos segue como peça essencial no esquema do técnico Roberto Martínez.

Cristiano Ronaldo também vive outra corrida importante. O português chegou a 948 gols oficiais e sonha em atingir o milésimo ainda em atividade. Desde 2023 ele balançou as redes 107 vezes em 114 partidas pelo Al-Nassr e mantém uma média superior a 0,9 gol por jogo.
Se continuar nesse ritmo ele precisará de cerca de 57 partidas para alcançar o milésimo. Considerando as Eliminatórias os jogos de clubes e a próxima Copa o objetivo parece possível.
Portugal mantém liderança e já pensa no próximo desafio
Com o empate a seleção portuguesa segue na liderança do Grupo F das Eliminatórias europeias com 10 pontos em quatro rodadas. O próximo compromisso será no dia 13 de novembro contra a Irlanda fora de casa. Já a Hungria enfrentará a Armênia buscando se manter na zona de classificação.
