Cristiano Ronaldo não se cansa de fazer história e, na noite de terça-feira, conseguiu bater mais um recorde, tornando-se no jogador com mais golos marcados em encontros de qualificações para Mundiais. Com o ‘bis’ apontado à Hungria, numa partida na qual a Seleção Portuguesa não foi além de um empate (2-2), CR7 chegou aos 41 golos em apuramentos para Campeonatos do Mundo, isolando-se de Carlos Ruiz, antigo avançado internacional por Guatemala que detinha o anterior recorde, de 39 golos. O capitão da Equipa das Quinas alcançou este feito ao cabo de 51 jogos.
Desta forma, Ronaldo volta a protagonizar um marco inédito com as cores de Portugal, ele que, agora com 143 golos num total de 225 internacionalizações, continua a ser o futebolista que mais vezes fez o gosto ao pé com a camisola de uma seleção.
Recorde com sabor amargo
Certo é que, apesar de ter aumentado a sua já extensa lista de recordes, Ronaldo não terá saído totalmente feliz do encontro com a Hungria. Afinal, um triunfo luso na partida de terça-feira teria garantido à Seleção Nacional a qualificação direta para a fase final do Mundial’2026, mas um golo húngaro ao cair do pano impediu a festa do apuramento.
Ainda assim, e a somente duas jornadas do final da fase de qualificação, Portugal continua muito bem posicionado para marcar presença na próxima edição do Campeonato do Mundo. Ao dia de hoje, a Equipa das Quinas lidera o grupo F com 10 pontos conquistados, mais cinco, precisamente, que a Hungria, que é segunda classificada, encontrando-se, por isso, em zona de apuramento via playoff. No terceiro lugar, encontra-se a República da Irlanda, com quatro pontos, ao passo que a Arménia ocupa o quarto e último posto, com três.
