Felipe Melo acredita que o Fluminense acertou em priorizar o retorno de Renato Gaúcho. Levando em conta o nível do treinador, sugerido como substituto de Dorival Júnior à frente do Brasil, o ex-jogador aposta no “renascimento” do Tricolor das Laranjeiras. Diante do plantel avaliado com status de “seleção”, o impacto causado pelo novo comandante pode ser imediato.
“Eu acho maravilhoso! É uma decisão super acertada da direção do Fluminense. Eu não tenho dúvidas de que essa decisão é acertadíssima! Se eu fosse o cara da caneta, também contrataria o Renato Gaúcho.”, disse Felipe Melo, nos stories do Instagram.
“Eu falei, nesses dias, de Renato Gaúcho na seleção brasileira. Olha que beleza, Renato Gaúcho vai ter sua seleção, o Fluminense. Morrendo de curiosidade para ver como vai ser o trabalho do Renato no Fluminense. Não tenho dúvidas de que ele pegando esse elenco, que é forte, vai dar liga!”, acrescentou.

Ídolo do Grêmio, Renato Gaúcho optou pelo desligamento após o fim de 2024. Lembrando que a imagem do treinador está consolidada no Rio Grande do Sul, Felipe Melo vê um ambiente propício para outro legado de peso dentro do futebol brasileiro.
“Rio de Janeiro, sol e praia. Pra que ficar lá no Sul? Já tem uma estátua no Sul. É o cara! Vai voltar para casa. É a casa dele, vocês sabem, né?! Se não der nada errado, o ‘Piti’ tá cravando Renato Gaúcho no Fluminense.”, afirmou.

No passado, Renato Gaúcho foi atrelado ao posto de técnico da seleção. Embora tenha perdido força como um dos principais candidatos, o ex-jogador mantém o sonho de, ao longo dos próximos anos, trabalhar em uma Copa do Mundo.
“Sim, (o sonho de assumir a seleção) continua. O treinador, independente de quem quer que seja, tem que ter o sonho de treinar a seleção brasileira desde que ele se garanta.”, externou Renato Gaúcho à ESPN.
