Nachdem SPORT BILD berichtet hatte, dass die Bosse des Rekordmeisters Thomas Müller keinen neuen Vertrag über den Sommer hinaus angeboten hatten, meldet er sich bei Instagram persönlich zu Wort – und verkündete sein Aus bei seinem Herzensklub.
In seinen Zeilen, in Briefform an die Fans adressiert, bekräftigt Müller, dass er gerne noch eine Saison drangehängt hätte: „Nachdem zuletzt viel über meine Person spekuliert wurde, möchte ich mit diesem Brief an euch die Gelegenheit nutzen, für Klarheit zu sorgen. Auch nach all den Jahren habe ich ungeachtet meiner Spielminuten, immer noch sehr viel Spaß, mit den Jungs zusammen auf dem Platz zu stehen und gemeinsam für unsere Farben um Titel zu kämpfen. Diese Rolle hätte ich mir auch in der nächsten Saison gut vorstellen können.“
