Jerry Jones has lost his mind and is planning to make a wild move in the Draft

The NFL Draft always brings high expectations, and of course, the Dallas Cowboys are always one of the most talked-about teams. The reason for this is that, practically every year, the pick is made by the team’s controversial owner, Mr. Jerry Jones – and 2025 is no exception.

Jerry Jones shocks Cowboys practice with a helicopter landing

Right now, the Dallas Cowboys are a team with way too many needs. First and foremost, the offensive line – during this offseason, they lost their guard, future Hall of Famer Zack Martin. They also need a true No. 2 wide receiver to pair with CeeDee Lamb, and their running game last year was downright dreadful. A major change is urgently needed at that position.

The NFC East is as competitive as ever, with the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders in the mix. If the Cowboys want to remain contenders, they need to be surgical in the NFL Draft.

The wild move Jerry Jones might be about to make

The Cowboys owner is reportedly considering taking a running back in the first round of the Draft – just like he did back in 2016 with Ezekiel Elliott, who had an immediate impact and became a team star.

Cowboys fans would be thrilled if the team managed to land the top running back in this class, Ashton Jeanty from Boise State. However, that’s going to be a tough task since Dallas holds the No. 12 overall pick, and it’s unlikely Jeanty will still be available at that point. That’s where Jerry Jones’ potential madness comes in.

Omarion Hampton visited the Dallas Cowboys

In recent days, the team hosted former North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton, which has once again fueled speculation about what Dallas might do in the Draft.

Hampton stands out for his size and especially his speed. He has the profile of a starting running back in the NFL. While he’s not the best at breaking tackles, he’s an extremely powerful runner. He has traits similar to those Elliott had when he was at Ohio State – which might be enough for Jerry to fall in love with Hampton.

Some might think Hampton could be available in the second or third round, but several reports suggest his draft stock is skyrocketing. That means the Cowboys and Jerry Jones might use their first-round pick to take a running back – a decision that would no doubt spark debate among Cowboys fans.
