Die Eisbären Berlin gewinnen auch das dritte Play-off-Halbfinale gegen die Adler Mannheim. Vor 14.200 Fans heißt es in der Uber Arena 5:1. Berlin damit in der Serie nach Siegen 3:0 vorn und kann am Dienstag mit einem weiteren Erfolg bei den Kurpfälzern schon ins Finale einziehen.
Das dritte Halbfinalspiel gegen Mannheim hat wieder einen Hauptdarsteller. Wer das ist? Klare Sache: Ty Ronning (27) von den Eisbären. Der Wirbelwind erzielt einen Treffer und gibt dazu noch eine Torvorlage. Damit wird er endgültig zu einer Legende.
Der US-Amerikaner ist jetzt in 22 Ligaspielen an einem Treffer beteiligt. Damit ist der Stürmer nun alleiniger Rekordhalter in der DEL und löscht die Uralt-Bestmarke von Peter Draisaitl (59) aus der Saison 1994/95 aus. Draisaitl, der jetzt mit Krefeld als Sportdirektor um den Aufstieg in die DEL kämpft, zu BILD: „Tolle Sache und ich hatte ja jetzt dreißig Jahre den Rekord. Das ist genug. Ich drücke Ronning weiter die Daumen.“
Der neue Rekordhalter stellt sich voll in den Dienst der Mannschaft. Was hat da Sportchef Stephane Richer für einen guten Griff mit dieser Verpflichtung gehabt!
Nach zwei Dritteln heißt es bereits 3:0 für Berlin. Neben Ronning erzielen Pföderl (erster Playoff-Treffer) und Wissmann die Eisbären-Tore.
Als dann Adler-Trainer Dallas Eakins 4:30 Minuten vor Spielschluss Torwart Tiefensee vom Eis nahm, macht Leo Pföderl mit seinem zweiten Treffer im Spiel (57.) den Deckel drauf – 4:1. Der „Spieler des Jahres“ trifft halt, wenn es wichtig ist. Veilleux dann erneut ins leere Adler-Gehäuse zum 5:1. (60.). Noch kein Team hat es geschafft einen 0:3-Rückstand in einer Best-of-Seven-Serie zu drehen.
Unnötig: Ein Stockschlag von Eisbär Zach Boychuk gegen Tom Kühnhackl, was mit Spielausschluss 25 Sekunden vor Ende geahndet wurde. Eine Sperre droht für Dienstag.
