El Real Madrid volvió a demostrar que le tiene tomada la medida al Barça y sumó su octava victoria consecutiva ante su eterno rival (89-91) y la quinta de esta temporada. Los azulgranas estuvieron a punto de romper esa racha nefasta, pero los blancos volvieron a hundirles con dos triples mortales de necesidad de Llull y Musa en los últimos 77 segundos de partido.
Brizuela había puesto a los suyos por delante a 1:39 del final (83-82), pero a 1:17 el menorquín anotó un triple rocambolesco que tras rebotar el balón en el aro y subir más de dos metros, entró milagrosamente limpio en su caída. Y a 35 segundos fue el bosnio, con un triple desde ocho metros, quien abrochaba el triunfo del Madrid.
El Barça, aun así, tuvo opciones de triunfo tras fallar Deck dos tiros libres a cinco segundos para la conclusión (89-91), pero Tavares, enorme todo el partido, capturó el rebote y aunque erró en la entrega a un compañero al escapársele el balón, ya no tuvieron tiempo los azulgranas de anotar.
El propio Tavares (15+10), Musa (15), Llull (19 y 4/5 triples) y Feliz (14+2+3), que jugó muy bien los últimos minutos, relegando a Campazzo al banquillo, fueron los mejores de los blancos. Mientras que en el conjunto azulgrana destacaron Punter (19 puntos, pero sólo 6 en la segunda parte), Brizuela (15), Parra (15+6) y Satoransky (14).
El Madrid golpeó primero gracias a un Llull que fue titular y celebró su Clásico 65 con 8 puntos y dos triples para lanzar a los suyos (6-13, min 4). Luego irrumpió un Punter imparable para liderar con 11 puntos un parcial de 16-4 del Barça (22-17, min 10).
Los blancos regalaban muchos rebotes bajo su aro, pero tomaron de nuevo el pulso al partido con un buen Musa y el brío de Abalde y Feliz (35-40, min 9). Satoransky, con ocho puntos, puso el contrapunto para los azulgranas, que redujeron le distancia antes del descanso (39-42).
Tavares incrementó su incontestable dominio bajo tableros en la reanudación, y Llull volvió a facturar para propiciar la máxima ventaja de los blancos (50-59, min 26), que se beneficiaron e de la primera técnica al gigante Fall por provocar con su cabeza a Tavares tras haberle dado antes un manotazo ya con el juego parado.
No se amilaaron los azulgranas, que sin el foco ofensivo de Punter, bien defendido por Deck, encontró la luz gracias a Brizuela, que con cinco puntos lideró un parcial de 9-0 que metía de nuevo a los suyos en el partido (59-59, min 29). Fue justo antes de que Fall recibiese su segunda técnica y tuviese que abandonar el partido.
Ibaka y Abalde tiraron del carro madridista para consolidar su renta, estabilizada con un triple de Musa sobre la bocina (61-68, min 30). El Barça salió más entonado en el último cuarto, y con un hiperactivo Anderson y triples de Parra y Parker fabricó un parcial de 12-4 para ponerse por delante (73-72, min 33).
Chus Mateo decidió jugar los minutos decisivos con Feliz en la dirección, y la apuesta le salió bien. El base anotó seis puntos para compensar las acometidas de Brizuela, responsable de la última ventaja azulgrana en el partido (83-82). Luego llegaron los triples de Llull y Musa y el rebote decisivo de Tavares tras fallar dos tiros libres Deck (89-91).
