Penn State AD: James Franklin’s Firing Went Far Beyond Recent Struggles

On Monday afternoon, fewer than 24 hours after rocking the college football world with his decision to fire head coach James Franklin following a stunning loss to Northwestern, athletic director Pat Kraft addressed the media in State College to explain his decision. Kraft read from a lengthy set of prepared remarks, answered a slew of pointed questions from reporters and then stepped aside so that Terry Smith, the interim face of Penn State football, could begin leading the program forward. The news conference lasted approximately 45 minutes. In terms of what both men said, let’s begin with the basics: Kraft told reporters he reached the conclusion to dismiss Franklin, who is now owed a massive buyout of approximately $50 million, early Sunday morning after reflecting on the Nittany Lions’ latest defeat and the overall standing of Penn State’s program. He contemplated sleeping […]

Travis Kelce’s mic’d-up moment goes viral after hilarious NBA reference during Chiefs win

Even when Travis Kelce isn't catching touchdowns, he finds a way to steal the spotlight. During the Kansas City Chiefs' 30-17 victory over the Detroit Lions, the veteran tight end delivered one of the most entertaining mic'd-up moments of the NFL weekend.A mix of humor, nostalgia, and leadership that reminded fans why he's one of the league's most charismatic figures. While Patrick Mahomes led the way with four total touchdowns and 257 passing yards, Kelce was once again his reliable outlet, hauling in six receptions for 78 yards. But it was what he said on the sideline - not what he did on the field - that had fans buzzing after the game.Cameras caught the 36-year-old comparing himself to basketball legend Hakeem Olajuwon following a first-quarter play. "They don't want to see me in the post, man. They don't want to […]

LeBron James isn’t dwelling on injury and reveals his new favourite NFL player during MNF

LeBron James may be recovering from injury, but the Los Angeles Lakers star still managed to take center stage on Monday night, this time as a fan. Watching the Atlanta Falcons take on the Buffalo Bills, LeBron couldn't resist reacting to Bijan Robinson's electrifying 81-yard touchdown run that lit up Monday Night Football.Robinson's burst through the Buffalo defense was nothing short of spectacular. The 22-year-old took a handoff from rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr., slipped past one tackle near midfield, and blazed down the sideline untouched to the end zone. The run, the longest of his career and the NFL's longest this season, sent the Falcons up 21-7 in the second quarter and left even the game's biggest stars in awe."Bijan so COLD!!!!!!!!!" LeBron posted on X, echoing the sentiment of millions who watched Robinson shred Buffalo's defense in real […]

4 Takeaways From the Dodgers’ NLCS Game 1 Win Over the Brewers

Blake Snell allowed the minimum through eight innings. The Dodgers’ wobbly bullpen allowed the maximum it could to still preserve his lead in the ninth. And after the Brewers swept the season series against the Dodgers, the reigning champions demonstrated that the postseason is a different entity as they narrowly escaped a bases-loaded jam to end Game 1 of the National League Championship Series with a 2-1 victory in Milwaukee. Here are my takeaways:1. Blake Snell untouchable again in a flawless performance All six regular season games between the Dodgers and Brewers this year — each of them Milwaukee wins — came in a condensed slate in July, during which Snell was out with an injury. As Monday night demonstrated, his presence makes a considerable difference. Before this postseason, Snell had never gone six innings in a playoff game. He has now done that […]
