Flávio Prado tem uma opinião peculiar sobre o Corinthians. Para ele, o time paulista não se dá bem nunca em competições sul-americanas e, por isso, deveria deixá-las de lado e colocar todas suas forças nas disputas do Brasileirão e da Copa do Brasil em 2025.
Após a vitória do Timão contra o Vasco, por 3 a 0, no último sábado, pela segunda rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro, o comentarista da rádio Jovem Pan aconselhou o time dirigido pelo técnico Ramón Díaz que enfrenta o América de Cali-COL, neste meio de semana.
“Fez uma bela partida contra o Vasco. No meio de semana vai para Cali, aí chance de arrumar confusão (perder) de novo é grande. O Corinthians precisa fazer uma opção clara. Larga essas competições internacionais, cuida do Brasileiro e cuida da Copa do Brasil que ele pode fazer alguma coisa”, indicou Flávio Prado.
Segundo o jornalista, em entrevista recente, o atacante Romero admitiu que o Timão não vinha se dando bem nas competições internacionais e que faltava “malandragem” neste tipo de jogo para a equipe.
“O próprio time do Corinthians já detectou que quando joga competições internacionais tem muita dificuldade”, completou.

De forma irônica, o comentarista esportivo ainda apontou o Timão como uma equipe “emergente” no futebol brasileiro, pois demorou bastante tempo para deixar de ser um time estadual e agora luta para ser reconhecido internacionalmente.
“O Corinthians é um time emergente. Foi fundado em 1910. Depois de 80 anos se tornou um time nacional (ganhou Brasileirão). E agora está subindo. É um time emergente”, avaliou.
Em seguido, Flávio Prado fez um resumo das participações do time alvinegro em competições internacionais.
“O que é o normal do Corinthians? Não chega nem nas semifinais. Quando chega nas quartas já chegou longe demais. É tradição. Mas é emergente, está subindo”, concluiu.
