Over the past two years, Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders have shined with the Colorado Buffaloes, raising high expectations among fans and, most importantly, NFL team scouts.
In 2024, Shedeur Sanders in the NCAA accumulated 4,134 passing yards, completed 74% of his attempts, with 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Meanwhile, Travis Hunter scored 15 touchdowns on offense and added 3 interceptions on defense, so without a doubt, the NFL is eager to get this kind of talent on a team.

However, as free agency has progressed, it seems Hunter’s value has skyrocketed, while Shedeur Sanders has dropped dramatically. Both were linked to the New York Giants, but it appears that Brian Daboll’s team has closed the door on them.
Abdul Carter emerges as the favorite to land with the New York Giants
The Tennessee Titans are expected to select Cam Ward, quarterback from the University of Miami, according to multiple reports. Additionally, the Cleveland Browns have become the favorites among oddsmakers to select Travis Hunter, the versatile star from the Colorado Buffaloes.
Then come the New York Giants, who at the start of free agency had prioritized drafting a quarterback, with strong speculation that they would target Shedeur Sanders. But with the signing of Russell Wilson, it now appears the Giants will focus on strengthening their defense with Penn State star Abdul Carter.
Brian Daboll to meet with Abdul Carter
NFL insider Adam Schefter from ESPN reported that Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll had breakfast with Abdul Carter. Furthermore, the Penn State star already has a scheduled visit with the Giants for this coming Thursday in New Jersey.
It would be a spectacular pick for the New York Giants. Abdul Carter has shown his ability to pressure quarterbacks in the Big Ten conference. Carter was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year this past season.
In 2024, Carter recorded 12 quarterback sacks. He also comes from the same school as Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys. They have a similar build and are practically alike in playing style, so Giants fans might be thrilled with the selection of this player.
