Vanderlei Luxemburgo está sem clube desde setembro de 2023, quando foi demitido do comando do Corinthians, mas admite que um clube em especial o faz se animar neste momento. O Cruzeiro, que tem como dono o empresário Pedro Lourenço, o Pedrinho BH, é o sonho de consumo do veterano treinador.
Ao revelar se tinha mágoa por não ter sido o escolhido para seguir na Raposa quando a equipe foi comprada por Ronaldo Fenômeno, Luxemburgo acabou indicando que teria prazer em voltar ao comando do clube agora com Pedrinho como proprietário.
“Não, de jeito nenhum (guarda mágoa). É um direito que ele (Ronaldo) tem, ele que tinha pessoas para colocar para para a gestão, ele entendeu dessa forma sem mágoa, zero de mágoa. O mais importante para mim foi que aquele momento era muito difícil do Cruzeiro, muito difícil. O Pedrinho do BH, dono do Cruzeiro, foi fantástico. Ele deu a condição para que nós não deixássemos o time cair, que quase nós subimos ainda”, disse Luxemburgo, em entrevista ao “CNN Esporte S/A”.
“E o Pedrinho foi um dos caras que chegou e assumiu junto comigo e tudo que ele acordou comigo, ele cumpriu, e nós não fomos para a Terceira Divisão, e podíamos até ter tido o acesso. O Ronaldo tirou porque achou que tinha que tirar. Eu gostaria de ter ficado. (…) Agora, depois de sair o Ronaldo e entrando Pedrinho, muito mais ainda. Tenho uma amizade com ele muito boa”, admitiu Luxa.
Luxemburgo ainda imaginou como seriam as reuniões com o proprietário do Cruzeiro, caso assumisse o comando técnico do clube.
“Ele não ia chegar para mim e falar assim: ‘Bota fulano e beltrano’. Vai chamar num almoço lá no BH, no supermercado. ‘Luxa, você acha que vamos botar fulano? Nós vamos botar fulano aqui, tá vendo que o time tá uma merda?. Pô, Luxa, o time tá uma merda, não melhora não, de jeito nenhum’”, disse o treinador, aos risos.
“Seria um papo até meio meio legal de ter”, finalizou o técnico de 72 anos.
Vale destacar que a Raposa tem como atual técnico o português Leonardo Jardim, contratado neste primeiro semestre para substituir Fernando Diniz – o contrato do técnico com o Cruzeiro tem duração até o fim de 2026.
Estreia do Cruzeiro no Brasileirão
Eliminado nas semifinais do Campeonato Mineiro, o Cruzeiro vem desde então treinando e disputando alguns amistosos antes da estreia no Campeonato Brasileiro 2025.
A primeira partida da Raposa na competição será contra o novato Mirassol e está marcada para este sábado (29), às 18h30 (de Brasília), no Mineirão.
