Deset dní uplynulo od hrozivého pádu v semifinále proti Hradci Králové. Jak jste je prožíval?
Prvních pár dní bylo nepříjemných. Ale největší bolest celkem rychle odezněla, dal jsem se nějak dohromady. Musel jsem ještě podstoupit spoustu vyšetření, aby se nestalo nic horšího. Na ledě jsem trochu potrénoval, ale do poslední chvíle nebylo nic jistého. Nakonec jsem ve středu dostal zelenou, že můžu nastoupit.

Jak se vám hrálo?
Celkem v pohodě. Docela rychle jsem se dostal do tempa. Samozřejmě hrát zápas je o dost příjemnější než ho sledovat z tribuny, obzvlášť v play off. Kluci beze mě semifinále odmakali výborně, klobouk dolů. Škoda, že teď jsme do finále nevkročili vítězně. Měli jsme dost šancí, které jsme měli využít. Byl to ze začátku dost nervózní duel, nikdo nechtěl udělat chybu. Pak jsme se do toho dostali. Vedli jsme, škoda, že jsme to neudrželi. Ale takové je play off, v pátek začínáme od nuly.
Vrátil jste se sice vy i Lukáš Radil, ale absentoval další z lídrů Roman Červenka. Byla to citelná ztráta?
Takový hráč chybí vždycky. Dokáže šance vytvářet i proměňovat a je opravdu těžké ho nahradit, ale myslím, že se všichni snažili vzít díly jeho práce a makat.

Ve druhé třetině rozhodčí zkoumali váš faul na Kristiána Pospíšila. Bál jste se, že budete muset předčasně do sprch?
Ani ne. Schválně jsem se přikrčil, abych ho netrefil do hlavy, což jsem samozřejmě nechtěl. Ani jsem nevěděl, kdo to je. Měl puk ve středním pásmu, tak jsem ho prostě chtěl ze strany dohrát. Nic jiného jsem v tom neviděl.

Přesilovky jsou důležité vždycky a je fajn si jimi pomoct. Sehráli jsme to na střelu od modré, podle mě to tečoval Nick Jones a pak i já. Trochu šťastný gól, ale přesně takové padají. Když máte při přesilovce clonu, tak je to pro brankáře nepříjemné.

Proč nakonec na úvod finále koušete porážku?
Musíme zlepšit efektivitu. Vytvořili jsme si dobré šance, ale neproměnili jsme je. I v prodloužení tam byly tutovky Smejkyho a Honzy Mandáta. Naopak Kometa příležitost využila. Otevřený zápas, ale nijak se nevymykal.

Poprvé v letošním play off v sérii prohráváte. Jak bude náročné zvládnout tuto zkoušku a skóre otočit?
Nic jiného nám nezbývá. Je to play off a nikdo nemůže čekat, že vyhrajeme každou sérii 4:0. Prohry přijdou a patří k tomu. Moc nás mrzí, že jsme to nedotáhli, ale nic zvláštního se neděje. Znovu do toho vletíme.
