Angel Reese rages over LSU loss and Kim Mulkey as she finds those to blame for elimination

Angel Reese continued her war against basketball referees by turning her anger to the NCAA as her LSU Tigers were eliminated by the UCLA Bruins in a tight 72-65 thriller on Sunday, March 30.

The third seed against the top seed, the winner was largely tipped to go all the way and win the national championship for their college and UCLA kept that dream alive as Baton Rouge tasted defeat.

LSU are still chasing the high Reese gave them in 2023 when she led her team to the NCAA title against Caitlin Clark‘s Iowa Hawkeyes, but have now fallen short in 2024 and 2025 in the Elite Eight stage.

As some eyes turn to Kim Mulkey to assess whether the 62-year-old is the right figurehead at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, the 22-year-old Chicago Sky star found issue elsewhere.

“These refs man smh,” Reese posted to X.com, formerly Twitter, meaning she’s now got problems with the officials in the WNBA, NCAA and Unrivaled League as she continues to put pressure on the sport.

Flau’jae Johnson stars as LSU lose

Despite the disappointment on the night, the LSU Tigers should walk off the basketball pretty proud of their accomplishments. Narrowly edged out by the top seed, they were hardly blown out of the water.

Statistically, not a lot split the teams. UCLA led field goal percentage by 0.9%, three-point conversions by 7.4% and trailed LSU by 11.9% in free throw percentage, lady luck was just on Mulkey‘s side.

A seven-point defeat to a side that has lost twice through 37 matches is nothing to be ashamed of, that’s just how the penny drops in professional sports and the likes of Flau’jae Johnson and Annesah Morrow did their college proud.

Johnson, as the guard, racked up an impressive 28 points, four assists and four rebounds on March 30, whilst Morrow added 15 points, seven rebounds and an assist as a forward.

2025 NFL Draft: Saints pass on Shedeur Sanders to draft QB Tyler Shough

It has been a while since a 25-year-old had this many jokes made about being too old.Shough, whose first college snaps came back in 2018, had plenty of positive traits but it was also hard to ignore that he turns 26 years old on Sept. 28. He's about a year younger than Jalen Hurts, who just won a Super Bowl MVP. He was in the same high school recruiting class as Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Micah Parsons and Patrick Surtain II. Most teams don't want to invest a high draft pick in a player who is that age coming into the draft.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe New Orleans weren't dissuaded. They picked Shough with the 40th pick of the NFL Draft. Notably, they passed on Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders to take Shough.Even though Shough is old for an NFL rookie, he has experience. NFL uniform announcement: League to unveil ‘Rivalries’ jerseys beginning in 2025

The NFL announced this new concept, which will roll out over a four-year span, during the second round of Friday night's NFL Draft."The NFL is home to some of the biggest rivalries in football," Renie Anderson, the NFL's EVP and chief revenue officer, told CBS Sports on Friday ahead of the announcement. How far will Shedeur Sanders fall with Round 2 of NFL Draft underway? Where Colorado QB could land on Day 2

Getty Images Shedeur Sanders was not selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, and it may be a while until Sanders is picked in the second round (and this is assuming he's picked in Round 2). CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones doesn't know if Sanders will be picked within the first 10 picks of the second round -- which are Nos. 33 to 42. The New York Jets are the No. 42 pick and already have Justin Fields, while the San Francisco 49ers possess the No. 43 pick (and Brock Purdy). The Dallas Cowboys have the 44th pick, making it even more uncertain where Sanders will go. This brings up the Pittsburgh Steelers, who would be a natural spot for Sanders, but don't have a second-round pick. Pittsburgh would have to trade into the second round to get Sanders.  When could Sanders or […]

2025 Zurich Classic scores: Rory McIlroy & Shane Lowry stumble but make weekend, Højgaards stay in contention

Getty Images After Thursday's birdie-fest in fourballs, Friday foursomes brought a much bigger challenge for the two-man teams at the 2025 Zurich Classic at TPC Louisiana. Where fourballs is just about going out and trying to make birdies on your own ball, the alternate shot format requires an entirely different mentality and a lot more teamwork to shoot a good score over 18 holes. The reigning champions looked like they were going to make a big move Friday as Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry got off to another great start in alternate shot (which they dominated a year ago) with an eagle on the second.  The combination of McIlroy's length off the tee and Lowry's accuracy on approach pairs beautifully in alternate shot, and they had it to 6 under on their round thru 12 and were just two off the […]
