Todo apuntaba al tercer pleno consecutivo de Marc Márquez (pole más doblete en las carreras del fin de semana), pero el octocampeón se fue al suelo en la prueba larga cuando lideraba con comodidad en Austin. El de Cervera pisó el piano mojado en las curvas enlazadas, un error que pagó muy caro con su accidente. La GP25 quedó tan dañada que le fue imposible remontar. Pecco Bagnaia aprovechó la coyuntura con un triunfo que le hizo recortarle 25 puntos a su máximo adversario por el título.
Ese subidón anímico es lo que ha querido destacar Gigi Dall’Igna a la hora de analizar lo sucedido en el trazado texano. “Creo que era importante para Pecco volver a ganar. Pero más allá de la victoria, este gran premio fue importante por las buenas sensaciones que tuvo sobre la moto desde el Sprint. Esto es lo que más esperanza me da. Por encima de todo, la próxima es su pista (Qatar), así que creo que empezar desde aquí con este resultado puede incrementar mucho motivación para la próxima carrera”, señalaba el gurú de Ducati en declaraciones a Sky Sport MotoGP. Dall’Igna aclaraba también que el paso adelante del competidor de Chivasso no se debía a ninguna mejora en la GP25. “La cabeza del piloto es lo que hay que cuidar más que la moto”, sentenciaba.

Cuestión de confianza
En esa misma dirección iba Davide Tardozzi, quien en TNT soltaba un discurso parecido al del indiscutible referente de la firma de Borgo Panigale. “Sabemos leer los ojos de Pecco y cuando brillan significa que es rápido y que se siente a gusto. ¿Qué ha cambiado en comparación con Argentina? Hay que preguntarle a él, la moto es igual a la de Argentina. Todo es cuestión de confianza“, subrayaba.
Y volviendo a Dall’Igna, el genial ingeniero veneciano enfatizaba que las motos de Bagnaia y Marc Márquez están pensadas para las características de cada uno. “Siempre hay una diferencia entre las motos de dos pilotos diferentes, porque obviamente tienen diferentes necesidades y diferentes estilos de pilotaje. Tanto desde el punto de vista de la puesta a punto, como desde el de las piezas que se utilizan en la moto, puede haber diferencias. Siempre lo ha habido y siempre lo habrá, especialmente en una dirección como Ducati, que siempre tiene como objetivo pergeñar la moto alrededor del piloto”, confesaba.

El director de Ducati Corse se mostraba, como siempre, ecuánime a la hora de ponderar lo acaecido en el COTA. “La de hoy es una buena victoria para Pecco. Para Marc en cambio, se trata de un paso en falso: iba líder, es cierto, pero lo bueno y lo malo de MotoGP es que nunca se sabe. En cualquier caso ha sido un fin de semana muy positivo para Ducati, con éxito en las dos carreras y con cuatro Desmosedici entre las cuatro primeras en la carrera larga. Tenemos un lado del box muy contento y el otro un poco menos, pero así son las carreras y son situaciones a las que estamos acostumbrados“, remachaba Gigi.
Expectativas para Qatar
Para concluir su discurso, el mandamás de la escudería de las motos rojas ya pensaba en el siguiente gran premio. “Qatar alberga un circuito que nos suele gustar y a Pecco le gusta por encima de todo. Quizá a Marc le guste un poco menos, pero al final en una carrera incluso los que son favoritos corren el riesgo de no ganarla y los que salen segundos pueden conseguir un resultado importante. Las carreras de motos siempre son buenas para eso”, sentenciaba.
