Hay que remontarse a la temporada de la pandemia (la 20/21) para localizar un curso apretado en lo más alto de la tabla, con el Atlético de Madrid en primer lugar (66 puntos) y con Barça y Real Madrid a uno y tres puntos, respectivamente.
En esta ocasión, y con los rojiblancos casi fuera de la lucha por la victoria después de empatar con el Espanyol y a nueve puntos de la cabeza, todo haría indicar que la carrera de fondo entre azulgranas y blancos bien podría decidirse en el Lluís Companys el próximo 11 de mayo. ¿Por qué? Se juega el Clásico del fútbol español.
Sin embargo, y por más que pueda convertirse en la llave del campeonato, ese partido suma los mismo puntos que los otros ocho duelos que deben disputar ambos equipos.
Calendario
Teniendo en cuenta que esta semana Real Madrid y FC Barcelona afrontan las semifinales de Copa, además que sus respectivos choques de cuartos de final de Champions ante el Arsenal y Borussia de Dortmund, respectivamente, hay dudas de qué equipo tiene un calendario más favorable hasta el próximo 25 de mayo, fecha de la última y quien sabe si definitiva jornada de la Liga EA Sports.
El actual líder, el Barcelona tiene cinco partidos en casa (Betis, Celta, Mallorca, Real Madrid y Villarreal) y cuatro fuera (Leganés, Valladolid, Espanyol y Athletic de Bilbao).
Por su parte, el Real Madrid juega el mismo número de partidos en el Bernabéu (Valencia, Athletic, Celta, Mallorca y Real Sociedad) y los respectivos fuera (Alavés, Getafe, Barcelona y Sevilla).
Claves
Los de Carlo Ancelotti juegan la última jornada en casa ante los donostiarras, mientras que los de Hansi Flick afrontarán el partido definitivo de este campeonato en San Mamés ante el Athletic.
Si bien lo que les queda de campeonato doméstico podría resultar más o menos equiparado a ambos equipos, es quizás en los esfuerzos europeos que uno u otro tengan que hacer donde podría estar otra clave para dar el último esprint en este tramo de liga.
La ida y la vuelta de cuartos de Champions se disputan el 8/9 y el 15/16 de abril. Si pasan de ronda, las semifinales se afrontarán entre el 29/30 de abril y el 6/7 de mayo. Cuatro días después, se disputaría el Clásico. Y no olvidemos que, llegado a un hipotético empate, el Barcelona cuenta con el average a favor gracias a al 0-4 azulgrana en el Bernabéu.
