Na to by lépe odpověděli sami kluci, protože já tento názor nesdílím. Nevidím důvod, proč bychom neměli být motivovaní, obzvlášť v takovém utkání.
Sám jste po Liberci mluvil o nepříliš ideálním nastavení v hlavě. Není tedy Sparta mentálně křehčí?
Dobrá otázka. Pokud prohrajete zápas jako tento, je potřeba se důkladně podívat, co jsme měli udělat. Fotbal je ale hra o chybách. O tom, jak na ně zareagujete. Musíme jít dál. Ano, po Liberci jsme mluvili o mindsetu, a něco na tom je. Jednoduše nemůžeme prohrávat jako s Plzní. Musíme se na vše znovu podívat a na chyby zaměřit. Mentalita je pak jedna z nejdůležitějších věcí.
Právě chyb, zejména v defenzivě, jste v neděli udělali mnoho.
Je velmi složité hrát a vyhrát, když uděláme tolik hloupých chyb jako dnes. Bylo snadné si šance proti nám vytvořit, soupeři jsme dali příliš mnoho prostoru.

Když se podíváme na poslední zápasy Sparty, logicky i ty vítězné, není právě obranná část aktuálně vaší největší slabinou?
Všichni víme, jaké jsme měli problémy na podzim před Vánoci. V zimní pauze jsme na tom tvrdě pracovali a jsem spokojený, jak jsme se od té doby posunuli, jak jsme se dobře v této oblasti prezentovali například s Interem nebo Leverkusenem. Bylo by velmi jednoduché říct, že jde o největší slabinu, ale všechno souvisí se vším, defenziva a ofenziva jsou provázány. Proti Plzni jsme neviděli dobrý obraz Sparty, musíme si všechno vyhodnotit. Strašně lehce jsme inkasovali, což si proti tak dobrým týmům, jakým je Plzeň, s kvalitně zvládnutými přechody a hlukovými náběhy nemůžeme dovolit.
Proč jste o přestávce stáhl Lukáše Sadílka a poslal do hry Victora Olatunjiho?
První půli jsme začali dobře, vedli, ale do šaten šli za stavu 1:2. Viděli jsme, že se dokážeme dostávat do šancí, takže jsme chtěli dostat dopředu více hráčů. Přidali jsme útočníka, Lukáš Haraslín se posunul na desítku, prostě jsme potřebovali jít za vítězstvím. Sadílek nehrál hůře než ostatní, jen volba tentokrát padla na něj.

A jak moc chyběl záložník Kaan Kairinen, který je určitou spojkou mezi obrannou a záložní řadou?
O tom, že nebude ze zdravotních důvodů k dispozici, jsme se dozvěděli ráno a museli situaci řešit. Ukázali jsme na Patrika Vydru, který podle mě odehrál velmi dobrý zápas. Ano, také udělal nějaké chyby, ale byl pro mě příjemným překvapením. Poradil si s tím dobře. Nedokážu říct, jestli bychom s Kaanem hráli lépe, ale jasně, je to člen základní jedenáctky. Obecně jsme ale někdy kazili v přihrávkách, jindy zase pomalu reagovali. Prostě celkově jsme nebyli dostatečně dobří.
