Sechs Punkte Rückstand auf die Bayern – die erfolgreiche Titelverteidigung hat Leverkusen-Trainer Xabi Alonso (43) noch nicht abgeschrieben. Gleichzeitig treibt der Spanier die Planungen für die kommende Spielzeit voran – und den nächsten Angriff auf die Münchner.
Dabei hat ein neuer Abwehrchef höchste Priorität. Jonathan Tah (29) geht ablösefrei – voraussichtlich zum FC Barcelona. Ein Kandidat ist Malick Thiaw (23) von der AC Mailand. Die Ablöse soll bei rund 25 Mio. Euro liegen.

Der Keeper steht vor einem Wechsel, als Nationaltorwart Tschechiens hat er in England einen Markt.
Alonsos Wunschlösung soll der Spanier Joan García (23) von Espanyol Barcelona sein, das um den Klassenerhalt kämpft (derzeit Platz 16 von 20). Das Eigengewächs ist seit dieser Saison als Nr. 1 gesetzt und gilt im Tor als größtes Talent Spaniens. Leverkusen lockt mit der Perspektive Champions League und mit Alonso.

García gilt als kompletter Torwart, ist stark auf der Linie, in der Strafraumbeherrschung und mit dem Fuß. Die Ablöse für den 1,91-Meter-Mann, der bei Espanyol noch Vertrag bis 2028 hat, dürfte zwischen 15 und 20 Millionen Euro liegen.
