Los Angeles Dodgers rookie pitcher, Japanese Roki Sasaki, was far from having the expected debut at Dodger Stadium after working just one and two-thirds innings against the Detroit Tigers, a fact that has changed the way the team’s coaching staff views the pitcher.

As the hours go by, rumors about the possibility of Sasaki being sent to the Minor Leagues are getting stronger and stronger, so it would not be a surprise to see the Japanese player working outside the city of Los Angeles in the coming days.

Dodgers Roki Sasak’s first home game wasn’t as planned and ended up crying after just 62 pitches

Sasaki’s questionable work in two games with the Dodgers

Sasaki made his debut with the Dodgers at the Tokyo Dome against the Chicago Cubs, and pitched three innings, with one hit, one earned run and three strikeouts, but gave up five walks after 56 pitches, only 25 of which were strikes.

In his game against Detroit on Saturday, Sasaki allowed three hits and two earned runs, with two strikeouts and four walks on a total of 61 pitches, 32 in the strike zone.

Some MLB experts have suggested that a stint in Triple-A would be beneficial for the Japanese player, which could give him more experience and a higher level to withstand the pressure of playing in the best baseball in the world and with the current Major League champions.

In the end, it will all depend on the decision of the team’s coaches and the Los Angeles Dodgers’ management.

Dodgers fans show total support for Sasaki

Despite the slow start for the 23-year-old, Dodgers fans have been patient with the Japanese and have encouraged him at all times.

After leaving in the second inning on Saturday, Sasaki was close to tears, but the fans gave him a strong ovation and later came out to defend their young star.

The board and fans have seen Sasaki’s passion and enthusiasm, and are hopeful of seeing him improve as the days go by, and a trip to the Minor Leagues could be of great help, and even many fans believe that is exactly what should happen.

Bill Belichick’s failings at UNC underline one thing: He thinks he’s bigger than the job

Bill Belichick and the unaccountable band of cronies and flunkies that followed him to North Carolina have failed to grasp one fundamental principle of college sports.Even for the most successful coach in the history of the NFL, the program and the players always come first.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThat means you don’t bring the petty feuds that followed you from the New England Patriots into the building. It means you don’t fly off to Nantucket with your girlfriend during the bye week when your team is failing on practically every front. It means that when you gut a roster from the previous regime to bring in your own people, you better actually upgrade the talent instead of throwing darts at the transfer portal like it doesn’t matter because you don’t believe the competition is worthy of trading X for O with your genius.Belichick has […]
