Sparta měla 33 střel, vy devět. I tak slavíte vítězství. Co bylo příčinou?
Dáváme si záležet na obraně, ať střely nechodí ze slotu, byť dnes jich tam pár bylo a na to se musíme zaměřit znovu. Ale i s troškou štěstí jsme proměnili brejky a jsme rádi, že máme první bod, byl to pro nás skvělý začátek. Sparta neměla nějaký extrémní tlak. Byl tam, ale hráli v méně nebezpečných prostorech. Bylo to kontrolované. Když jste v boxu, dá se to ustát, neunavíte se. Snažíme se nepanikařit, nedělat zbytečné námazy a chceme dostávat puky rychle ven a těžit z protiútoků.
A jistotou je brankář Postava, že?
Od začátku sezony chytá skvěle. Když vyhrajeme zápas, pak si víc věří a my víme, co od něj čekat. Snažíme se mu pomoct odpalováním puků ven, aby nebyly dorážky. K výhře nám ale pomohl i průběh. Bylo to nahoru dolů, ve druhé třetině jsme byli víc pod tlakem, ale stihli jsme srovnat pár vteřin před koncem. Vždycky pomůže gól do šatny. Musíme makat dál. Můžeme být pod tlakem 59 minut, ale když vyhrajeme 1:0, tak je nám to jedno.
Play off bývá soubojem brankářů. Může to nahlodat sebevědomí sparťanu Kořenářovi, když dostal z devíti střel tři góly a prohráli?
To se nechci vyjadřovat. Ale když gólman není v takovém tempu jako náš, tak je to pro něj těžší.
Co dalšího pomohlo k výhře?
Musím pochválit naše oslabení, hráli jsme je skvěle, pomohli jsme v něm zblokovat hodně střel. A i to byl důvod vítězství. Musíme hrát dál dobře protiútoky a věříme, že to přinese ovoce. Pořád je spoustu hokeje před námi. Chceme tady získat i druhý bod, uděláme maximum, abychom si odvezli vedení 2:0.
