A pesar de que Atlético Bucaramanga fue fundado en 1949, de cara a la segunda edición oficial de la Liga del fútbol en Colombia, tuvo que esperar 75 años para celebrar el primer título de su historia en primera división, siendo el último de los clubes más históricos y tradicionales en conseguirlo. Y aunque en 1998 ya había participado en la Copa Libertadores, por ser subcampeón del América de Cali en la campaña 1996-97, en 2025 participará como campeón colombiano y es un hecho histórico.
Sin embargo, el primer partido del ‘Leopardo’ en la competencia de clubes más importante de Conmebol en esta edición 66 tuvo un hecho penoso, que ha causado vergüenza y tristeza en la ciudad de Bucaramanga, en el departamento de Santander y en el país futbolero. Pues resulta que, mientras un grupo de hinchas e integrantes de las barras estaban reunidos y preparando la fiesta del debut contra Colo Colo de Chile, se produjo un tiroteo con consecuencias fatales.
Los hechos se presentaron en la noche del pasado domingo 30 de marzo, a 2 días de jugar el primer partido del Grupo E de Libertadores, en el que comparte con Racing de Avellaneda (Argentina), Colo Colo (Chile) y Fortaleza (Brasil). A pesar de que no había ningún problema o hecho violento en el lugar, abrieron fuego varios sujetos extraños y todo fue descontrol, según los videos que se conocieron en medios y redes sociales.

Según se supo, las barras y grupos de aficionados del Bucaramanga se reunieron en el llamado ‘Parque de los Niños’ para acordar toda la fiesta y logística para el primer partido de Copa Libertadores 2025 contra el histórico Colo Colo de Chile. Y mientras cantaban y entonaban una de las canciones tradicionales que entonan desde la ‘barra brava’ conocida como ‘Fortaleza Leoparda’, se escucharon una serie de disparos.
Más allá de tanto ruido, sonido de instrumentos, gritos y coros, el sonido de las armas de fuego alertó a todos y la multitud salió corriendo sin saber lo que pasaba. Pero pasados unos segundos se notó que había un hombre herido de gravedad y caído en el piso. Además, otras 2 personas también salieron afectadas por las balas que no lograron impactarlos de lleno, quedando heridas.
En los videos que tomaron los mismos seguidores bumangueses del evento y que fueron compartidos después del trágico suceso, muestran que estaban en paz y sin ninguna muestra de violencia o problemas. Por eso, hay exigencias para encontrar a los responsables de lo ocurrido en este lugar, tan concurrido y que en ese momento tenía presencia de ‘barristas’, hinchas del común, mujeres y hasta menores de edad.

Pero estas solo son muestras de que pudo ser una tragedia peor, sabiendo que las multitudes pueden reaccionar de formas inesperadas y en el mundo de las ‘barras bravas’ hay muchos intereses y situaciones que no son cercanas a la ley colombiana.

Horas después, los medios revelaron que el hombre que perdió la vida era Yulevinson Iván Rodríguez Martínez de 29 años, conocido como ‘Yuyo’ en el grupo ‘Fortaleza Leoparda’, siendo uno de los líderes de la ‘barra brava’ y con largo recorrido en el colectivo de aficionados. Según los testimonios que dieron al diario Vanguardia de Bucaramanga, personas cercanas y familiares, no tenía problemas o situaciones que hayan llevado a que atentaran contra su vida de esta forma.
Con un relato fuerte y dolido, la madre de Rodríguez Martínez habló de su hijo: “Él era un muchacho muy juicioso, muy sociable y amoroso. Fue un buen hijo. No tengo palabras para describirlo: sencillamente, él fue lo mejor que me pasó en la vida. No entiendo por qué razón lo asesinaron. Es que yo todavía no puedo creer que mi hijo esté muerto”. Además, confesó las palabras que varias veces le dijo Yulevinson sobre su amor por el club amarillo: “Mamá, si yo algún día me muero, me muero por el Atlético Bucaramanga”.
Infortunadamente, justo en un evento relacionado con un partido histórico para su equipo, el hincha murió y ahora hay exigencias para que las autoridades esclarezcan el preocupante caso. Incluso, la misma barra ‘Fortaleza Leoparda’ sacó un comunicado en sus perfiles de redes para sentar postura y hacer un llamado para encontrar a los supuestos responsables de abrir fuego contra la multitud.
“Lamentablemente, aún existen estigmas y personas que no han reconocido cuánto ha mejorado el comportamiento de la barra Fortaleza Leoparda Sur. No somos santos, pero sabemos convivir y comportarnos en espacios públicos. Hoy en día, apostamos por un barrismo familiar, donde el fútbol se vive con alegría y respeto”, se lee en la publicación y también mostraron un video que, según ellos, mostraba lo ocurrido en el lugar.
En el material se observan muchos niños y en el final del texto se describen las versiones que se conocieron minutos después por testigos que estaban alrededor: “Este video muestra cómo transcurría nuestra reunión minutos antes de los hechos, reflejando un ambiente sano. Lo sucedido fue ajeno a nosotros: dos motos pasaron disparando, generando caos. Sin embargo, en ningún momento iniciamos el conflicto ni somos responsables de lo ocurrido”.
Lamentablemente, alejados de ese mensaje de un supuesto ambiente de paz y tranquilidad, en Vanguardia también revelaron que la reacción violenta y en caliente de algunos ‘barristas’, terminó con agresiones con arma blanca contra un mototaxista que estaba por la zona. La víctima del ataque de múltiples puñaladas fue identificado como Henry Stiver Suárez Díaz, de 20 años.
“Algunos hinchas, convencidos de que un mototaxista les había disparado, lo persiguieron, buscando justicia y, entre varios, lo apuñalaron… Alcanzó a correr, despavorido y con más de siete heridas por arma cortopunzante, hasta el CAI. Uno de los policías, por preservar su seguridad y la del lesionado, no tuvo más remedio que disparar con su arma de dotación y ahuyentar a la turba enardecida”, se leyó en la publicación y esto ha opacado la situación exigida por el colectivo popular, ya que los responsables de esta agresión también deben ser identificados y responder por lo hecho contra un presunto inocente.
