Micah Parsons, the Dallas Cowboys‘ All-Pro edge rusher, is a force on the field-and behind the scenes, his agent David Mulugheta is the mastermind steering his contract talks. Mulugheta’s no small fry-he’s one of the NFL’s biggest power players, a guy who’s turned deal-making into an art form.
Mulugheta reps some of the league’s brightest stars, from Deshaun Watson to Jalen Ramsey, and now he’s got Parsons’ back as the 25-year-old phenom angles for a blockbuster extension. With Parsons’ fifth-year option locked at $24 million for 2025, Mulugheta’s the key to landing what could be the richest non-quarterback deal in NFL history.

Mulugheta’s a Texas native who’s climbed the ranks with a knack for nailing massive contracts-think Watson’s $230 million fully guaranteed haul with the Browns or Ramsey’s $100 million pact with the Rams. He’s got a rep for being relentless, sharp, and fiercely loyal-qualities Parsons clearly vibes with.
“There is no one I trust more when it comes to negotiating contracts than David!” Parsons tweeted, clapping back at Cowboys owner Jerry Jones‘ claim he didn’t even know Mulugheta’s name. That trust? It’s gold-especially when you’re talking numbers that could top Myles Garrett’s $40 million-a-year benchmark.
How Mulugheta’s power drives Parsons’ Cowboys contract
Why’s Mulugheta so clutch for Parsons’ negotiations? He’s got the juice to go toe-to-toe with the Cowboys’ front office-namely Jerry and Stephen Jones-who’ve got a history of dragging their feet on big deals. X fans are buzzing about it: “David’s gonna fleece Jerry, and I’m here for it,” one posted-while Mulugheta’s track record backs the hype.
He just locked in $90 million for Texans corner Derek Stingley Jr. and $106 million for Raiders edge Maxx Crosby this offseason alone. For Parsons, who’s racked up 52.5 sacks since 2021 and wants to stay a Cowboy for life, Mulugheta’s the guy to make it happen-big money, long term, no shortcuts.
Parsons isn’t playing around either. “I will not be doing any deal without @DavidMulugheta involved!” he doubled down on X, shutting down Jones’ solo talks vibe. With the Cowboys eyeing a deal north of $40 million annually-maybe even $45 million-Mulugheta’s the ace up Parsons’ sleeve, ensuring every dollar and guarantee lands right.
